Splinterlands Art Contest Week 267: Time Mage🕔

Hello Everyone! I'll be participating in this week's Splinterlands art contest and chose the "Time Mage" for my entry. The idea of this is inspired by the cover of the Dead Mount Death Play anime. I haven't watched the anime yet it's just when I first saw the image I thought the magic circle on the back would be perfect for the time mage.

ART PROCESS

I started with a rough sketch of her body and got into the pose before putting up with the armor and garments, I find it easier this way than drawing it altogether. I then drew the lineart in dark color first and when I turned the background into black I turned it to red so I could see it. Then I drew the clock on the background with light colors so it would look like a glowing magic circle. I then painted the character in grayscale and my first thought with this is to submit the art in grayscale with some highlights on but as I experimented with the clock on the background changing the layer to hardlight light blending and adding some textures to it turn out to be much cooler and so I also added some colors to my character to balance out the colors in the back.
And after adding final touchups here's the Result...
