Splinterlands share your battle: Reach everything with Radiated Brute
For this weeks entry of the @splinterlands share your battle challenge things are getting hot with the with one of the best 2nd in command monsters of the base set!
Radiated Brute
The spreading blight on the continent of Praetoria twisted both the land and its people. Plants and animals were the first to become corrupted. Fungus sprouted from vegetation and gave them sentience. Animals grew extra limbs, heads, and grew to extraordinary sizes.
Then the people fell ill. Some thought it was from the plague brought about by Doctor Blight. Others thought perhaps it was from the poisonous gases that seeped from the fissures near the volcano.
Whatever it was, those who survived the sickness were changed. They mutated, grew stronger, and were filled with an uncontrollable rage. Some were unable to control that rage and went on murderous rampages. Others fought to maintain their sanity long enough to protect their family, friends, and neighbors from themselves. They fled into the Jade Thicket, where they became as feral as the wild animals of the continent.
The people of Praetoria referred to them as Radiated Brutes.

The Radiated Brute is 2nd line king of the Fire splinter. Because of it's Reach ability it's a great card to place behind the Living Lava or Antoid Platoon. With it's 2 attack and high health it can even take a few hits and there for become your replacement tank. If you're like playing with Fire, this is a must play card in your battles.
And for $0.91 for the gold foil, there is no excuse to not pick one of the market.

Tactics
If i can choose between life or fire, my choice goes to fire 9 times out of 10. So for this battle i chose Fire in combination with Tarsa as summoner.
As a tank, depending on the available mana, my choice goes to Antoid Plantoon, or like in this case the Living Lava. Because of its 3 melee attack, defense, high health and the shield buff, this is nearly a no brainer.
In second spot, the Radiated brute because of his reach ability. And because of his 2 Melee attack, it can still hurt your opponent to if they choose to play a Shielded tank in combination with a Demoralize buffed monster.
Then comes the Chaos Agent. Specifically in this position to act a bait for opponents with opportunity. Otherwise they would attack the Serpentine Spy and take him out in the first round.
Also in center, the Serpentine Spy. Great attack and speed, but low on health. That's why i add the bait card.
As backing i added the Tenyii Striker. He can take a few hits, has sneak and 2 melee so a great backing card. As closer i chose Djinn Apprentice for the 2 magic attack which work great against tanks.
The Battle
In this 4 round battle, my opponent followed a different strategy than me. By adding the Radiated Scorcher in tank position i think they were hoping that this would be attacked first by an opportunity creature, leaving their Serpentine Spy alone. By adding the Disintegrator and the Scavo Hireling they hoped that their Living Lava couldn't be killed anymore.
But as you can see in the battle replay, my Serpentine Spy takes out the lowest health monster, the Scavo Hireling, meaning their repair strategy wouldn't work anymore. And their Serpentine spy took out my bait Chaos Agent, leaving room to kill my opponents Serpentine Spy in the next round.
And because of the Djinn using magic, i could weaken their Living lava. In a combined attack of the Djinn Aprentice and the Radiated Brute, we left it with 4 health and no armor entering round 3.
In round 3, my Tenyii Striker and Serpentine Spy took out their Tenyij Striker. And with finishing of the Living Lava by my tank and the Radiant Brute, my opponent entered round 4 with only the Disintegrator. This went down after attacks of my remaining monsters.
Conclusion
In combination with an melee increasing summoner like Tarsa, the Radiant Brute is a great card to be played because it can hurt shielded tanks. Even when a demoralize card is played. If you put some lower health monsters behind it, it can really go trough the whole battle damaging anything.
