Swamp Kitty: A New Year's Day Rescue
This morning, while I was talking on thy phone to one of my best friends, Sharon, as she drove near our house on her way home she suddenly exclaimed, "Jan! There's a cat stuck in the swap! I need Jeff to come help me get it out of there!" I relayed this to Jeff and he grumbled a bit because he's not feeling well, I'm not feeling too hot myself, but the kitty needed help. I ran to get dressed quickly, gathered up a blanket, towel and a box for her and we left.
We drove the quick five minute drive to the swamp. We pulled up to where Sharon was parked on the roadside. Another car was also parking behind her truck and a young man in a baseball cap, jeans, T shirt and cowboy boots got out of his car and, after a brief word with Sharon, he began wading, knee deep, into the swamp, and deftly secured the soaked kitty bringing it to Sharon. I gave her the towel to wrap it in.

The young man was willing to pose for a picture before returning to his car then dumping the water out of his boots. We thanked him. I told him he was a hero today. Ironically, the man who saved the kitty's name is Jeff, like my husband. Sharon said Jeff showed no hesitation about going into the swamp in the middle of winter in his cowboy boots when she mentioned it.

Jeff is a hero, wherever the young man is, and the kitty will have a name soon. This was a good start to his 2022. I pray for blessings on Jeff.. For now I refer to the kitty as Swamp Kitty.

He is adorable! So happy you could save him!
He will have a lot of love ❤. My bestie is a good one
I'm glad the kitty was able to be rescued! 😊🐈
He's a lucky kitty and Sharon said when Jeff walked toward him he leaped off the pile into the swamp and Jeff had to chase him through that swamp. I'm glad it didn't get far.
Oh no! That definitely sounds like cat behaviour, haha! 😅 I'm glad Jeff was actually able to catch him after that, cats can be so feisty.
He's so adorable! 😌 Glad he got saved.
And Happy New Year to you and your husband, I hope you both feel better soon💕
It was definitely a bright spot in the morning that he was saved. It seems by design that Sharon was driving home and saw him. That Jeff is a good man. Happy New Year ❤.
He is a hero, if hubby won't mind, you could name the kitty Jeff for its rescuer.
😁 I think she's letting her son name him/her. I hope all is well with you and your husband.
