Hatchet Head

You can't see it, but my head is cracked. It feels like it's cracked as wide as a cavern. Pain accompanies the wound. You've probably seen characters in movies or comedy skits with people walking around with a hatchet burned deep in their skulls. Well, that's me. I'm sitting in my chair with this old hatchet stuck in my skull. It doesn't bleed, so I'm grateful for that.

Migraine is one of those invisible diseases. Many people think headache at the word Migraine, but there is no equal "apples to oranges" comparison to make. Symptoms range from the Alice in Wonderland feeling to dysphagia (trouble speaking similar to stroke), head splitting pain (like tonight, but not every migraine), smell, light and touch hyper sensitivity, hyper auditory stimulation, mood swings, exhaustion and body temperature changes and severe agitation over the disability.

Barometric pressure changes.

Snow has made its way to Pennsylvania. We didn't see any here but a half hour way folks reported snow on the news. I'll just go now and nurse my wound. Over and Out.

Over and out? 😄
Ugh! Migraines are the worse and you aptly describe it as a crack. It's like my head splits and nothing makes sense at such a time.
I just curl up in my bed, take a pain reliever and get some rest.
I hope you get some rest too.
And yay, snow is here! Hehe.
Nicely done. 😊

I wish when they hit I could sleep. Thankfully my husband makes dinner when I'm sick with one. Thanks for stopping in, reading and commenting.

I wondered why I was relating until the word 'migraine' showed up. What a crafty way of putting it.

Definitely enjoyed this :)

Well, I'm sorry that you can relate, but I also appreciate that other people can understand this malady so that I'm not alone in the world. Thank you for reading and commenting!

This was very clever and brought back the one memory of the deadliest migraine I have ever had. I was only 20. I couldn't sit up for two weeks. It's true that some people think they have a migraine when they have a bad headache. For those who have experienced the real deal, there is a huge difference. You describe it perfectly.

Wow, that was a miserable migraine! I pray that yours are gone now. My specialist thought mine would go away after I reached menopause, but they got worse. My migraines stem from a head injury. I am thankful to have survived that.
