[Wander with us to] : Urban Jungle @ Hurstville, Sydney Australia
Hello Everyone š
Itās been what feels like forever since weāve dined somewhere new. Ever since the arrival of our little bubs, weāve been staying safe and doing our best to keep the little one away from crowded, public areas during the pandemic. Due to this, weāve been pretty MIA when it comes to being somewhere indoors.
Now that the little bubs is a little older and things are better, weāve slowly started introducing him to new places and letting him experience a whole lot more. One of the things weāve done recently was to show him the foodie side of his dada and mama (us!). Our little one is definitely a foodie in the making. He loves to try new things and there isnāt much that he doesnāt like to eat.
It was a day we planned to have brunch with my dad and brother. We had no idea which cafe we wanted to visit as we felt a bit out of touch with the outside world after approximately 2 years of this pandemic. It was when we met up that we thought of this new cafe which opened up in the Westfield at Hurstville that we decided we were going to try it out.
When we got there, it was filled with people and there were no vacant tables for us. Luckily we didnāt have to wait long and we were seated.
The interior was nice as it was decorated with faux plants and foliage, wallpapers and neon lights. Definitely my type of cafe.
The cafe is called Urban Jungle.
The menu: not a huge variety but it has a few things thatās different from the usual cafes. I love the drink menu as there was quite a bit that we wanted to try but we know we will be back to try out other things next time so we didnāt go crazy on this first visit.

The food and drinks:
This one here is the Jungle brekky. I swapped the bacon for smoked salmon (bacon lovers, I hear you and Iām sorry š ). I love the variety in a big breakie and also so that I can share with the bubs. He got to try everything on this plate except the smoked salmon. Literally had to hide one of the hash browns for myself as heās found a new fav.
My brother and dad also ordered the Jungle brekky with the bacon š„ option. Big breakfast is usually their go-to option at any cafe. Itās got a great variety.
This one here is the AƧai smoothie. My brother ordered this one. It was demolished so I guess you can say it was good.
Nutella Smoothie - also demolished.
Ice mocha with ice creamā¦ mmm! š
This last one here is the Gochujang chicken burger. Itās a Korean-style burger as they used the Korean chilli paste to coat the fried chicken. It was just āalrightā according to hubby. I think fried, spicy food is just not for him especially as his first meal of the day.
Overall we thought the food and atmosphere was pleasant and itās good to see a cafe like this opened in the area thatās not in the main city. The suburbs do need something more like this.
Dad enjoyed himself and mentioned that heād like to bring mum here next time on their date. He liked the atmosphere and like me, he liked the decorations the cafe had. Itās not boring and plain as he says.
Service? Pretty good! Staff were friendly and helpful. They saw that we had a baby with us and helped us out and also provided quick service as they know kids get cranky when hungry and bored. Not bad, not bad.
