In the case of John Lurie, I'm particularly captivated by his wonderful narrative voice, so the guitar can sometimes be "distracting". War Of The Worlds proves that it can be done differently.

Is there anything more to say about the Black Crows? My expectations are (as always with their releases) very high. Even better when these expectations are positively confirmed!

Beverly Brooks - it reminds me a bit of the car in the wind tunnel, which they try to design away all the rough edges under all circumstances. It may look good, but it loses a lot of tension.

Balkalar - their music naturally goes down well wherever the right clique has come together. Otherwise, I think it's the same as Madre Badessa - a few songs every now and then. But then there has to be a change.

Uranium Club - Punks with a good understanding for music. You don't find that too often either. The icing on the cake of course are the brass sections. Great stuff!
The boys from Nürnberg still have a lot of practising left to do if they want to get there musically.

Yes, see, I found and listened to this this week. Some of the songs will stay with me, some will evaporate, but maybe I'll hear them in time. The constant search for something new, at least in music, is still with me from my youth. But it's true that now I'm mostly searching on my own, not like when others around me had a lot of interesting music. I'm saying, lately I only get something from you that goes beyond mediocrity, everything else I look for myself. And sometimes it happens, according to a saying, that even a blind chicken finds a grain :)
