The MONO world - My funny outlook on a monochromatic world.. Musing triggered by my wildlife photo

I have been always intrigued by this quote. I do not usually do portrait photography. Therefore, I have not had the opportunity to test this out. I accidently took the following photo in Monochrome and stumbled upon a whole new world of BW Photography.

This photo made me realize that -

• Due to the absence of color, there are no distractions and the menacing horns coupled with cute large eyes, which form a very contrasting combination, draw our attention
• Clarity of shapes and forms is very apparent. Just look at the tufts and flowering grass! The intricate pattern and curves of the horn also are so emphasized...
• The character of the subject is far more apparent than anything else

This got me thinking. What if our whole world was Monochrome. What if we could see only in monochrome instead of full spectrum of color..

What if our vision was only B&W

The biggest advantage all the males of species would get is that they will only have to know TWO colors. There will be no situations where the better half asks you (a male), holding up two samples of color strips, "Is this ultramarine blue' better or the 'aquamarine blue' better for the curtains? and you stand there, utterly confused, thinking "What the heck is Ultramarine blue? Both the damn samples look the same!"

How the heck do I know? They look the same!!!!

You bravely try some cliché like "your sense of beauty and décor is better than mine dear" - only to get a disappointed look and a remark "you NEVER show any interest in what I like"...

There would be no situations when you want to buy a nice set of tops for your princess and after you do, she will, with quivering lips and eyes brimmed with tears say "Not THIS pink daddy..."

So - males of the world would be infitely happy if the world went Monochrome. The ladies would be happy too because they would not be frustrated about their constantly erring male companions when it came to anything remotely related to colors.

The downside!

What would happen to all those super speedsters in the traffic who believe 'Yellow means GO FASTER' at an intersection!!

Those morons would get frustrated big time!

Also - what will happen to M&Ms - Would they sell if all of them were either white or black ? 😅

so - In the end, B&W or monochrome world has it's own advantages but how can I miss out on M&Ms!! So I want my color vision.
