Few moments from the exhibition i visited today (series of images).
Just a few moments from the last hour before the closing of the "מאה שערים - Mea Shearim" Daniil Mashtakov photography exhibition in the Gallery: Kedumim square 8 located in the old Jaffa.
And an interesting detail - for the first time I met him in the streets of the same Mea Shearim neighborhood, where he walked and photographed for this project and I just photographed for the project of my life. We stayed in touch, mostly on Facebook, and when he announced the details of this exhibition, I immediately wrote him a message that I surely will be glad to come. The duration of the exhibition was only three days, and I was unable to get there on the opening date, but today just one hour before the closing time, I visited the gallery and the event.
Few words from his description of the exhibition :
"My first trip to Mea Shearim, the most famous and one of the oldest ultra-orthodox neighbourhoods in Israel and Jerusalem, I felt nervous and excited at the same time. It was an exploration of my prejudices and my knowledge about Jewish culture, especially in one of the most traditional places with its extremes and large contrasts to the secular world. My goal was to learn more about local life of the community and to show other people the routine and romantic sides of Mea Shearim."
