Elizabeth and James had been married for the past few years but have unfortunately not had a child of their own. Elizabeth, on her path, has tried several things to get pregnant, but none seem to be going her way. Although she wouldn't have been too bothered about being a mother, even though that's what she craved, what made this more necessary for her to get over was the numerous threats and abuse she had undergone from her mother-in-law.

At first, she wasn't like this, but after two years without getting pregnant for once, her mother-in-law drastically changed towards her. She first recommended that she follow her to churches, where they'd pray for her, and after visiting such places multiple times without any outcome, she even went to both hospitals and traditionalists. Even though Elizabeth was a Christian, she had to put her faith aside to save her marriage and has well-pleaded with her mother-in-law.

Well, when all wasn't yielding any positive outcome, the mother-in-law started threatening her and calling her different names, stating that who knows if Elizabeth had lived a wayward lifestyle before meeting her son and might have even undergone abortion, which then damaged her womb, and maybe that's why she's unable to get pregnant any more? She always tried to let her mother-in-law know she's like that and that her husband even met her as a virgin. Well, the mother-in-law was careless; all she wanted was a grandchild, or Elizabeth gave room for her husband James to marry another wife.

By the end of the fourth year, her mother-in-law had one day come to their house with a lady and introduced her to Elizabeth, and her husband has the new wife. James just stood there like a statute and said nothing, and when the mother-in-law had left, Elizabeth had questioned her husband, who immediately shouted at her and made her know that he couldn't disobey his mother and that he himself wanted children and was tired of her inability to get pregnant or give birth.

Elizabeth had cried throughout that night; her husband even slept in the other ladies room rather than with her; she felt like a stranger in her home and even contemplated leaving; she called her parents, who tried to encourage her but still instilled that she remain at her husband's house; in how much he's still doing his responsibility and not beating her.

Not up to a year after the new wife Mariam moved in, she had gotten pregnant and given birth to a baby boy. While everyone rejoiced, Elizabeth couldn't help but feel sad. Angry at the doctor, who told her she's medically ok and unable to get pregnant, Here is a lady who just arrived, and she's already a mother, and that only made it seem like her stepmother was right about her living a wayward lifestyle in the past.

4 years into Mariam's joining their family, Elizabeth is already used to that life and has even treated the children as though they were hers, because by then Mariam already had two children and was pregnant with the third. In light of that fact, the afternoon fell apart when Mariam's elder son was hit by a vehicle, which zoomed in immediately. James and his wife rushed the young boy to the hospital where he was to be treated, and the doctor, after examining the boy's parents, approached them.

He has lost a lot of blood and would need an urgent blood transfusion to make up for the lost blood. The father, James, immediately said he'd donate blood for his son, and he was testing before the process began, and that's when things took a new turn. Things fell apart when it was discovered that James couldn't donate blood because their blood doesn't correlate, and neither do they have anything in common.

James was short of words and had many questions going on within him about what's happening, and unfortunately, Mariam couldn't donate blood because she was heavily pregnant. Fortunately for them, the hospital was about to see someone who had the same blood group as the boy, who donated and helped with the treatment of the young boy, who later got better after a few weeks in the hospital. Once that was settled, the bigger question came up again.

James asked a question: if I can't donate blood to this boy who's mine and shares nothing in common with him, what could be the cause? Mariam, after hearing the question, began to feel uneasy and wanted to leave, but the doctor said they'd have to conduct a DNA test to decipher what happened.

The DNA test shows James isn't the father of any of the children, and they also conducted a fertility test on him and realized he couldn't even father a child, which made it more obvious that the children belong to someone else. Mariam had to confess that her ex-boyfriend was the father of her kids because he's the only one having sex with her other than her husband.

With James's mother-in-law hearing of the new development,she disseminated Mariam and insisted she leave and go out of her son's house. At that point in time, the mother-in-law had no choice but to apologize to Elizabeth for all the bad she'd done towards her, and yet that didn't make her want another man just to get pregnant. She felt bad, and that was how Elizabeth became a queen back in her home. She and her husband agreed to adopt a child, which they ended up raising and living a happier life together moving forward.
