How I Made These Double Colour Slipper For My Friend Harhess As A Birthday Gift
HELLO HIVE
Greetings to all my fellow needleworkers and friends on the hive blockchain, it's been an overly engaging and stressful way to start the week from my end, but then I felt it won't be nice if I fail to grace your sight with the birthday gift I made for my friend @harhess , who celebrated his special day yesterday.
Like I said earlier, today as been a stressful one for me, because I woke up as earlier as possible so I can be among the first to see the doctors, because I was scheduled to go for medication today, due to my poor state of health, but while I was waiting, I saw someone who was brought in to the hospital in an ambulance, I overheard he needed blood transfusion immediately but there is no one around to pay for him, so I decided to donate some blood for him, since my blood luckily match up with what he needed.
I was unable to leave the hospital until around 6pm, and while on my way home I was called that I have an interview I must attend by 8am tomorrow morning in Lagos, so I just went home park the necessity and I'm presently sitting inside a moving car heading to Lagos @ 9:00pm.
Well not to bore you with my petty talk, below are the process of how I made the Slippers.
MATERIALS USED
- Black and brown leather material
- Linning
- Oci Gum
- Shoe wet
- Nora outsole
- Marco size 4
MAKING PROCESSES
- So in making the Slippers, I cut leather, apply gum on the lining and join the leather to it, and then cut each one out.
- I then process into sewing the parts of the upper and the Marco meant for the insole.
- The next step was joining the upper Design to the insole and adjusting the shape with my wooden shoe last.
- Proceeding, I rub gum on the sole and the insole, then join both together.
- And here is how gorgeous the Slippers I gift my friend look like.
Note: The process of how I made the insole, cut and added the shoe wet to the Nora outsole isn't in the above toturial, but you can check my previous shoe making related post to see the various ones I made.
My friend @harhess wasn't aware he was the one I was making the footwear for, in fact he even assisted me while I was working on it, but was suprise when I presented it to him as his birthday gift later in the day.
Thanks so much for staying with me this far, have a blessed and productive week ahead.
This is truly beautiful thanks for sharing @vickoly
Thanks so much brother.
I'm not bored with your little talk there but at least I wanted to know what happened with your meeting in Lagos, hope it's okay. And you really had a big heart of giving what you can give like donating that blood even if you are sick. God will bless you more @vickoly. And He's proud of you. Take care always.
Wow that's good to know you weren't bored with my words, I'm still on my way to Lagos, it's 10:30pm presently and I won't be there until around 3:00am in the morning, but then I look forward to a goodnews and grace to be favoured in the interview.
I just felt it's the least I can do to help the man out in such situation, amen to your prayers and well wishes, I wish you all the best as well.
Have a blessed and productive week.
Thank you @vickoly. May God will favor all your dreams and protect you all the way.
I think the petty talk is one of the things I like to read the most in posts. Of course I like to see the projects, but I also enjoy some gossip. These sandals look great, it was a great gift for your friend. I love all the shoe work they do, I hope they continue to do well for all of you.
Cheers! ❤️
Oh that's great to know, I just felt it won't be cool if I just share my project without a background story about my day or what lead me into embarking on the project, thanks for your kind words, and compliment of the footwear.
Have a blessed and remarkable week ahead.
