I've been stood up? Yes... 😆 | Weekend-Engagement WEEK 160

Hi guys, I hope you are doing great today!

I stopped by @galenkp community and I thought it was interesting to talk about this because almost no one confesses or tells when you get stood up, "it's like this", pride always wins us and it shouldn't be something we should be ashamed of, indeed we are not a golden coin to be liked by everyone haha.

So I answer the following:
Have you ever been stood up on a date? Yes!!!

About 6 years ago when I lived in Viña del Mar, I was just arriving to the city and I didn't know anyone, so a friend recommended me a dating app and although I was really a little scared, since I was alone against the world... well I dared and opened it, I started talking to someone and we agreed to meet at a specific point in front of the sea where they usually sit on the sand several groups or couples and drink a beer with adrenaline because it is not allowed to drink on the beach but well, they still do it hehe. As I didn't know much about it, I decided to take my camera with me to take some good pictures while I was in a new place.

We arranged to meet at 4:30 PM, but I have a defect that I admit: I'm unpunctual :D. I get distracted a lot and when I come to see I always miss the time, so much so that when I have a flight, I prefer to leave almost the next day (sorry, the day before😂). So that day when I arrived it was already 4:50 PM and well, there was no one there, I called and I didn't get it, in short: they stood me up! Or maybe it was my fault for being unpunctual. The message I got a while later was: I arrived at about 4:00 but I had a work emergency and I had to leave, so I couldn't wait for you to arrive because I had low battery and I had to get to the office. And I was like: ok? anything else to add? haha.

But nevertheless I was not going to miss that day, which really was one of the most beautiful I could shoot with my camera and to give a little irony or black humor to the day, there was even a couple in love at the edge of the beach, with the spectacular sunset and giving love haha, which is the photo you see on the cover (in case you thought it was me, no no no no no).

As you can see, the sunset was perfect and I got a final photo that was undoubtedly my favorite and as I always try to turn unpleasant situations around, I said to myself: These photos would not have been possible if plan A had worked, so everything happens for a reason and I am thankful for that, because my stood up, became the best date someone can have with someone and that someone at that moment was "Life and its sunsets". 😌

Hmm, an interesting situation.

The date was 4:30pm and you arrived at 4:50pm. He arrived at 4:00pm then left . It sounds like a whole lot of disconnection to me.

When I arrive for appointments (a date included) I'm always fifteen minutes early. I do this because it's courteous and well-mannered to be there before the girl and so that I can find a decent table/spot etcetera. It shows respect I guess.

I there might have been some underlying issues with this particular date you refer to and I'm not surprised considering it was a dating app arrangement. I'm old fashioned and prefer to do things face to face so dating apps simply seem odd and unusual to me.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your story and these great images, at least something on that non-date worked out. I get the impression the guy missed out on a great opportunity with you, but he'll never know because he didn't peruse it.

Hi @galenkp, hahaha yeah, it was weird about the hours, the truth! However that day I ended up in love with the sunsets in viña and I lived about 30 minutes walk from the beach, so I decided to buy a bike and when I arrive home from work, I took the bike and went to wait for the sunset. I have very fond memories of that time when it was just me, my bike and my camera. I learned a lot of things that you only learn when you leave home where you have your parents pampering you, not only I went up in maturity level, but I also found myself and developed branches or dormant passions that I did not know, such as: meditating in front of the sea.

Sunsets inspire love, the good ones I mean, so that's a happy ending.

found myself and developed branches or dormant passions

This is very nice thing to do, one can only hope it happens early enough in life so that the benefits can be enjoyed fully.

I work every day to be on time, but I haven't achieved it yet hehe. That doesn't mean I'm not responsible :D. They are two different things! Greetings and thanks for commenting @ernesto6402

I completely understand you @vero10h. Each of us have that one bad habit we are struggling with. I am not also good with time myself😀. I go to many of my activities late, the only thing is that I have never been late on a date

Greetings vero, look what an interesting story, first the courage you had to capture someone for online dating, then I think that the pure adrenaline was the fact that you would meet someone blindly who in the end was not trustworthy, I suppose (calm down , it happened to me) I will make my publication so pay attention hahahahaha, so you know my story fresh out of the oven. What if I couldn't help but smile at the end of your story, you undoubtedly knew how to handle the situation and you made me remember that phrase that says, if life gives you lemons, make a delicious lemonade. Good that! and the photos are spectacular. You have a good attitude towards life. Thanks for sharing 👏🏻 @vero10h
