Suggestions for New Rewards System for God's Unchained

I think the first issue is that the weekend event is tied to the normal ranked constructed. Second, the reason that mythic players every see diamond players is there are not enough players. Third issue is the MMR reset doesn't cut deep enough to prevent all but the best from stay in mythic. Fourth issue is the card collection differences.
My requirements look like this:
- It should be a completely separate mode only available during the event times.
- In the ideal world, non-mythic would only play mythic when they are testing to break into mythic rank up and continue to play at mythic or fail and keep playing at diamond.
- MMR would need to be reset at least ever month.
- Nothing to really do about this, but as more sets are released this should eventually even this out. Power creeps, a killer.
I think the event should be divided into 3 or 4 ranges. Something like this. Though, these break points are completely arbitrary.
Tier 1- Rusted Bronze (B)
Tier 2 - Purified Bronze (B+)
Tier 3 - Rusted Iron (I)
Tier 4 - Purified Iron (I+)
Tier 5 - Impact Meteorite (M)
Tier 6 - Astral Meteorite (M+)
Tier 7 - Twilight Shadow (S)
Tier 8 - Midnight Shadow (S+)
Tier 9 - Auric Gold (G)
Tier 10 - Solar Gold (G+)
Tier 11 - Ethereal Diamond (D)
Tier 12 - Mythic (M)
We will start changing the event from just being each week to the total of 4 weeks of 25 matches each. With ranks reassigned at the end of the 4 weeks. Since we want to encourage progression, we should.
- Reward progress up each rank - +1 Rare Core pack,
- Group progress -
first: +1 Epic Core pack
second: +1 Epic Core pack, +1 Legendary Core pack, +1 Rare Latest Set pack
third: +1 Latest Set pack, +1 Rare Latest Set pack, +1 Epic Latest Set pack, +1 Legendary Latest Set pack - Reward for improving your season end MMR (one per week) +1 Epic Latest Set pack
- Rewards for maintaining season end Mythic Rank +1 Rare Latest Set pack, +1 Epic Latest Set pack, +1 Legendary Latest Set pack (once per cycle)
Now, this seems like a lot of packs at first glance. Here is the catch, you can only get the reward packs the first time you pass that rank or group. You can't get more packs from deranking and ranking up again. This gives a heavy focus on progression and staying as high as possible. When the season reset, all players MMR is lowered to the lowest rank in your current group.
This is may not but the best answer, and it doesn't solve everything. It is all a got for now.
Thank you for making a post in response to my post. I love your thoughts on this. And I think the tiers you have set forth would make a more even matching making. The rewards seem pretty fair as well. I do feel like they could sprinkle some $GODS in there somewhere as well. Hopefully GU will start taking a look at this and some changes could be made. If we are adding $gods into the mix. i would sprinkle it in as top of tier rewards. so maybe the top ten or twenty get some $gods.
That was exactly what my intentions of the $GODS token would be. Or even the top players in each tier. But with vastly larger diminishing returns as the tiers go lower. As to not reward people for hanging in lower tiers then they should be. Like midnight shadow would get fractions of a token if that is possible.
What I like about this is: It solves deranking problem. Everyone will aim for their highest rank possible to maximize rewards.
What I don't like about this: Everyone is rewarded the same for achieving particular rank. For example, I can reach mythic in X games, and someone else in 3X games, we both get same rewards. We lose competitive side of current reward system with your suggestion.
Also, maybe I misunderstood, but after mmr reset, I go to bottom of group 4, I can only get rewards from ranking up? Do players starting bottom of group 1 have more rewards available for them? This would cause everyone to reach mythic, then derank all the way down to group 1 before mmr reset to maximize rewards.
In this system by deranking you would lose the higher quality rewards for maintaining your mythic rank season after season. Some might see that as a good thing but it doubt it would be many. At least i think so, I could be wrong.
Also with this system being a separate mode you only get 25 matches, no more. That is not a lot of room to rank up and then down.
