Crossing the Flood Just to be With Me
A continuous bad weather we have on our place Calumpit Bulacan. I wasn't able to sleep last night because I'm waiting for my husband to arrive. But they were stranded on their way home. His recent out is seven in the evening but he just arrived this morning.
He called me often to keep me updated. My brother in law also messaged me last night about ten in the evening, he knew I'll be worried a lot. His siblings told him not to go home because there's no way his going to surpass the flood. But he still insist to check on us. He said that his brother might arrive at midnight. I've said I'll just wait for his call to fetch him at the road. The reason why his stranded is because of the heavy flood everywhere.
Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) made a lot of damages in our country. Even if it didn't directly hit our place it leaves a mark that we'll surely won't forget. Hubby is not the kind that will take a lot of pictures just to impress others. But he told that last night was the worst of his life. They walk more than 40 kilometers just to go home in their family. But they stopped because the flood reach their chest. I'm really worried I was about to call him at 12 midnight but I thought that his still on the road I've waited for 30 minutes more before I decided to check on him. He answered my call and said I won't make it home my love, the flood is too high we can't walk through. We need to stop at the streets to take a rest and nap. I don't know what to say, on his previous years he was able to go home to us. But now all I can do is to cry and worry about him. I can't sleep, but I don't want his battery to shut down either.
I missed his call at 5:45 in the morning. I hurriedly call him and saw him tired and said; his lower back is already painful. I pitty my husband so I went at the road to looked for my brother in law. I told him that we should went to go to where he is. I called him and said that we'll pick him up. But he resist and said that he'll call when he reaches the city. I didn't return to my in-laws house until we're not together.
He finally arrive for me its like years that we haven't seen each other. It was big relief for me to see the person that strengthen me all the time.
He fixed all the mess in the house put our stuff to safety. He told me his not sure if he can went home on his next day off. He also bought us stock for our needs, gave money to her mother for contribution to the food. But the most important is he cross that terrible flood just to be with us.
Don't worry, sis, usually excessive rainfall is a sign that the dry season will soon arrive. That's what I experienced a few weeks ago and now in Indonesia it's the dry season.
