I present to you the HALLACA. What you see is the favorite and main dish of all Venezuelan homes during these December holidays. It is undoubtedly delicious. It is a kind of corn flour cake, filled with various types of proteins such as beef and chicken, olives, raisins, and some vegetables. And as if that were not enough, it is wrapped in a banana leaf, which is a kind of giant leaf that gives it its characteristic flavor and smell, that smell of Christmas, the smell of mom, the smell of family, the smell of Venezuela. This is my first hallaca; that is why I am sharing with you something as special as the hallaca.
