Protecting the harvest🌾

Hello all👋

There were many household chores, so I rarely wrote.
Better a little, but interesting...

Today I will tell you a story about how I helped a neighbor make a bird scarecrow for his garden.

For any farmer, his harvest is very important. Therefore, in addition to growing delicious fruits, you need to be able to protect it from the encroachments of various pests, including birds.

My neighbor wanted his scarecrow, in addition to functionality, to have an unusual look and make an impression not only on animals, but also on fellow villagers.

And so we got started.
First, from old scrap metal, we welded a cross - a base. It will serve as a support for our design. Along the edges of the cross, we burned a hole in order to be able to fasten to the ground by nailing the base with stakes.

The spring had to be bought in auto parts. Suitable from any car shock absorber.
It is important not to use welding to fasten the spring to the base so as not to weaken the hardened metal of the spring. The spring will become brittle at the weld and lose its elasticity.
I had to invent a variety of brackets to securely fix the spring to the base and attach the future scarecrow pole holder to it.

Next, we stuck a pole into the base with a scarecrow attached to it in advance.

The production of a mannequin for a scarecrow is a different story. The responsibility for this part lay with the female half of my neighbor's family.
For the base, a handlebar from an old bicycle was used, as a filler - empty plastic bottle fixed to a wire frame. And of course the face mask...

As a result, we got such an original design, the functionality of which we will see closer to the summer.
There are no complaints about the reliability of the design either! The scarecrow survived a couple of bad weather with storm winds safe and sound.

Several orders have already been received for the friendly production of something similar to other sites.
We have already started the production of the second copy!

All pictures were taken by me on an old Samsung smartphone!

I wish you all a peaceful sky above your head and stable soil under your feet! Take care of yourself and your loved ones so that you can meet again in the hive!
