A Story of Poultry, Quails, and Rescued Sparrows
Hello everyone!
...After leaving the police department, our family found it useful to have some rest and spend time with friends. And of course, when traveling with a child, we chose to stay with our acquaintance's family, which besides a raccoon also had many other animals.
Yesterday, they helped us relieve stress by introducing us to their feathered friends.
Their chicken was sitting on eggs, and as resourceful poultry farmers, they added eggs from other chickens to the nest that were not yet sitting. That's why the chicks started hatching at different times.
To prevent the chicken from abandoning the eggs in the nest, they take away the chicks for a while, giving the chicken the opportunity to sit on the remaining eggs. Later, when the rest of the chicks hatch, they quietly return them to the mother at night.
The family also rescued a sparrow that had been injured by cats and was destined to die in the wild. Now the sparrow has grown up, but due to its injury, it hops poorly and occasionally clings to branches, but it flies wonderfully and tries to play with the owner's finger. It has a long cage about two meters long, which it enjoys flying around in.
They also breed quails, whose eggs are considered a delicacy. At one point, they had a population of 5,000 quails that they took care of.
The family faced a problem of disposing of their pets' waste. They would remove over 200 kg of pure manure a day and dump it in the area. Over time, a huge pile of bird manure accumulated, which would steam in the winter, and it looked like a fire.
The locals eventually found out the cause of the steam and took the manure for their gardens.
It was because of the quails that the family decided to move from the city, where they used to live in a private sector, to a village, where we met them.
To be continued...
This post will be filled with little birds, but I will add a one more pictures))

it's nice what you do with these feathered friends by rescuing them and helping them, they look so tiny and vulnerable, do most of them survive close to adulthood even? Either way, it's better to be cared for than being left alone, hope you find success in your endeavors 😊

Our friends keep them, and they are doing very well.
Coming to visit them, I see clean, spacious, bright cages, in which there are vigorous animals.
