RE: Changes on Music Community || Cambios en la comunidad de Música

I just want to throw in my two cents here since I'm a long time indie music supporter and podcaster of indie music.

There are some people who sing to a backing track and consider that as a "cover". Is this considered karaoke? What if the backing track is completely redone and not the original music? I have seen and heard (not necessarily on Hive) many "covers" that are extremely good that the person who did them consider it to be karaoke. But yet I've heard (myself included) many, who think they are great but actually couldn't carry a tune if it was in a bucket, do karaoke and yet they would argue that it was a "professional" cover.

So, my question is, are you using the "artisit's" intent as to whether it is karaoke or a cover?

The easiest way to solve it would be "original" music only. No covers and no karaoke with no tolerance.

As a side note why is there not a karaoke/cover song community already?

My friend. Everything you say is interesting and I comment: What we are looking for is that they stop uploading kareoke as a means of entertainment. If you search the community you will find a lot of people who call themselves singers and they are not. And in that way they hinder the work that we are looking to offer. Which is a musical community of at least a medium caliber of vocal quality. As you yourself have said ¨There are those who do not even know how to carry the tempo of the song¨ Since we know that not all of us are professionals. And here I include myself too. We seek respect for the music and the art it represents. That is what we are looking for as a community.

Absolutely agree 100%!
So you should just say original music only. Somebody should create a karaoke/cover community for those who wish to do that stuff.
I myself prefer the original music over covers. Because the songwriting is generally better. There is much more passion and emotion in it. Which usually results in a much more over all experience for the listener.
I do covers mainly cause it's fun and I do them to learn about recording and mixing mastering stuff. But I dont release them to the world unless I am proud of them. Lol.

There are communities such as: Music for Life, Sound Music, Music Hive Live and others to upload this type of content, friends.

Very very well said and in the right words! Ofcourse music and art is a big entertainment segment but should be respected and valued! It's as simple as a professional painter working his life off nurturing his skill and creating beautiful art as opposed to some person painting as a hobby but making stick figures you know! There is a thin line between putting up some entertaining cringe music as you said can't even hold a tempo just because you CAN and putting out your hard learned skill!

Yeah, that could be the next step. Even in the administration of the community, there are "no friends" of the covers... But we are going to advance little by little.

Thank you for your contribution! 👍
