It's a Trap!

I don't know why but you need to hear this.

Preface

I'm not really sure what prompted me to write this today. But I read the following headline on twitter this morning and it got me thinking. My first thought while writing this was to try to point out that governments shouldnt be into approving any currency, crypto or not. But as I went on and the words began to fill the page it took a different turn.

So if you jumped in to read this thinking it's about crypto currency, sorry it is not. This post is about how greed breeds more greed and how it has effected my life and health in general.

Bitcoin Magazine on Twitter is reporting that Florida's Governor has confirmed that they are working on a plan to let businesses pay taxes in #bitcoin and other crypto.

El Salvador has already accepted bitcoin as legal tender these kinds of headlines are amazing and fuels the fire for crypto enthusiasts everywhere. I agree its great. It's awesome and I love disruption of the norms.

But, Yeah you knew this was coming.

It's no secret that I am not a crypto enthusiast. I honestly don't have any interest in any of it other than it is a disruption of the norm and can break the system. I don't play the markets and I can honestly say that I have never spent fiat to buy into any crypto. I have traded some Hive for swap.hive to acquire some NFT's as well as mint a few of my own.

I would love to see more business and people use crypto currency as payment. But when a government, no matter the country, wants to get involved I say HELL NO! The US government has a loooooooong history of not doing what they say they intend. Once they get their fingers into something they are there permanently. Especially when it involves money.

Through out human history currency has been what two parties have agreed has value to them. In modern times we have had a civilization that is built on and driven by the acquisition of currency that is mandated to us as dollars. Why? Because that is what we are conditioned to perceive as what is needed to survive and be happy with our lives.

We have to have this or that. The latest in tech, the fastest car or bike. The latest guitar made by a certain luthier. If we don't have those we just are "satisfied" or have reached our peak in the perceived social circles.

It's all a lie.

You can call me crazy or off my rocker (there's a boomer term for you @r0nd0n, lol). But as I sit here pondering my nearly 52 yrs of a whirlwind life I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I spent all that time in the pursuit of that almighty currency. The nectar of life. The one thing that would make you popular and bring you happiness. Money.

My entire adult life was spent working as hard as I could to make one more dollar so I could spend it on something for me or my family. I literally worked as hard as I could with no thought given about my health. I just wanted to have it all. Work hard and play even harder than the work. Now here I am at 52. Overweight, diabetic and with a failing heart. Doctor wont allow me to do pretty much anything outside of walking. No weight training. Mild cardio until he can see signs that my heart is getting stronger. No alcohol, no smoking of any kind & no recreational pharmaceuticals.

I was told while growing up that I needed to do those things in order to make money and that money would make my life easier and I would be happier and satisfied with my life by the time I reached it. I was also told there would be flying cars everywhere too. But no, that was a lie too.

For you younger people than I take this into consideration. Money, including crypto will not and can not make you happy. The quest for currency in any form will only fuel your desire to acquire more of it. Once you begin your search of it you will be consumed by it. You need to first step back and consider just exactly where you want to be at the end of your life. Then work out how you get there. I mean its pretty simple. Plan your life and then do it. Wealth and the acquisition of it will not give you a sense of fulfillment when you reach the end. Knowledge and wisdom may give you something more but I can assure you that money will not.

The power is literally in your hands already.

The other day I posted on Twitter:

In every situation of life the power is literally in your hands. When you break it down to processes. The decision of what you eat for breakfast is exactly the same decision as letting a government trample on your rights.
The power is yours. All you have to do is use it.

By that I meant that your life is what you make it to be. No government, no group of other people, no religion, no social structure and no currency is going to make or break you. Only you have that power. You have the choice to either be happy and content with your personal surroundings or not to be. You are the only one who can effectively make those changes to be happy and content or fulfilled with your life. Again, when it comes to planning your life you should start with the end.

Back to the point

Do you really, I mean this very sincerely, Do you really trust that the government would do the right thing when it comes to crytpo? Personally I think it's just another way for them to get their hands on your money. If they can accept your crypto as payment for their theft taxation. Then they will inevitably require KYC to ensure you are paying your "fair share". Does that not go against the entire reason behind crypto currency?

How can it be that if a government accepts crypto is considered a win for the crypto community? It makes absolutely no sense to me. The same is for these industry articles I read about Music NFT's. There is always a statement from some Record label executive that makes it sound like they will still be in charge of the artist and their music. When the point of minting music NFT's is to make those record labels obsolete and irrelevant.

This is where those people have gone wrong with their life. They chose the quest for acquisition of currency and power and they've had it so long that they just assume that they will have it forever. No, no they wont.

So what is the most valuable thing

People are starting to wake up and realize that it isn't the currency that makes the world go around. It's not where an individual is in a social circle. Its not how many things you have. It's not the latest and greatest in tech. Hell it's not even the nicest most polished hand built car. And it definitely isn't Bitcoin or gold.

Its unconditional love and compassion for others.

The love you can feel from across the ocean, in other countries. People you've never met face to face. But you read the words they write. You hear their voice on speakers or through ear buds and headphones. Its the music they make, its the songs they sing. Its the videos they make, the pictures they take. The real world we live in isn't a vicious, chaotic constant state of chaos. What we see and hear on the news is sensationalized and beefed up to make it look that way. The real world is huge and immensely enormous. And if you strip all that bull shit away and boil it down to just the people. It all starts to make a little more sense and looks a whole lot less horrific. Yes there are a few bad actors and evil is a real thing. But those are actually few and far between. It only looks like they are many because they are in control of the media. They can take 1 thing and make it look like literally thousands if not millions agree. But I refuse to believe that. I like to interact with people on a one to one basis. Get to know them. I want to feel if they have love that comes from them or evil. And I can honestly say I feel more love in this world than I see of evil.

I know it can be overwhelming at times. Everywhere you look. Everywhere you read evil is coming and is going to destroy the world as we know it. And yes, I believe that it eventually will. But I'm not going to change my life. That will mean that the evil has won. Our lives on this planet are short and I intend to live it and be happy. I will not ever give up hope that their is more love in this world than evil, ever!

We each have our own lives and we are the only ones who can control it. The only thing you need to ask your self is do you have the ability to stand for it. You have to at least make the effort to make your own decisions and the ability to live with those decisions. Dont continue to be mindless, brainwashed slaves. You have a brain. Use it.
