Understanding the African reaction to Pansexuality!
This video is a follow up to my last where Buzz Alvin and I talked about Pansexuality from the African perspective and how negative reaction is gotten from the African society and the government towards people that may Identify with other sexual preferences apart from the expected norm.
I want any African who may identify as Pansexual to understand that the negative reactions gotten are simply due to our rigid cultural values and beliefs which have stood the test of time and are unchanged regardless of civilization or ‘the new normal’.
Although other sexual identities may be legalized in other countries due to cultural differences and traditions, it should be known that the LGBTQ community is not legalized in Nigeria yet, hence it shouldn’t be surprising if authorities or the Nigerian/ African society do not react positively to this identification since it will be considered a transgression of cultural values and the law!

Africans may have weird culture, beliefs or tradition towards sex but I believe LGBTQ isn't one of it.
Most Emotions are not something that can be easily controlled so I have nothing against the LGBTQ community, but I believe they shouldn't try to enforce their beliefs on others ( children to be precise), I believe displaying LGBTQ adverts on television or tv shows that children clearly watch us slowly poisoning the world. Being gay isn't something to celebrate, it isn't something to be frowned at either, but still you shouldn't try to impose your sexual belief on others in an attempt to be accepted by the society.
These days LGBTQ and similar sexualities have become something that is being sold on TV in a bid to force general acceptance when in the real sense it should be a matter of choice and interest.
Those things shouldn't be sold unto children but be allowed to reach the age of maturity and choice before being exposed to such.
Africans will always react to people with other sexual identities because we haven't evolved to the point of acceptance. Our values are always considered as number one there fore it will always be difficult to conform to the new normal.
For now, other sexual identities have not been legalised or passed into law so it will be tough for whoever is pansexual to be accepted since they lack legal backing as well.
Until such sexualities are passed unto law and declared legal in most African countries, whoever identifies otherwise should conform with the norm of this society or go to places where they'd be protected by a law that suits their sexuality.
For you to be accepted in a community, you need to live in accordance to norm/ law of such community. If you feel different and not accepted, then i believe it wouldn't be a crime to move to an environment where you would be accepted or you blend in.
There is a saying 'If you cannot beat them, join them'.
You're right. Laws exist for a reason and laws vary in different countries. If the law of a certain places isn't so convenient for your sexuality then it will be suggested to move to places that will accept you so you wouldn't be opposing any law.
All countries have their regulations and laws, so we need to understand that of any country we find ourself as this is a major factor to be considered before choosing to act a certain way so we wouldn't be on the wrong side of the law.

If african parent's point of view can change alittle, it'll have a big impact on their children and they'll be able to come out boldly about they're sexual identity.
Apart from Parent's mentality, what about regulatory bodies, do we intend to change their mentality as well?
And if we intend to do that, can you imagine how long it will take? Many generations will have passed. Definitely not this one!
Maybe or not, either imposed or not. The view of pansexuality is beyond sex or gender and the feeling can just be said to be a general romantic feelings. In Africa, the belief is that all mammals should follow the trend of reproduction and that the most essential of creating affection is to reproduce sexually offspring of the same kind.
Religion supports this as well and that's why it is easy for African parents not to support anything that said a man should fall in love with either a man or woman.

Before we began to choose what kind of sexuality we are, kids of now a days needs to understand what the norms and custom of the place they are from actually says so they won't act like a stranger in their own land
