"Nilagang Manok" for dinner
Hi guys! Just dropping by to show you what I made for dinner tonight... hehehe
What's for dinner?
I made some "Nilagang Manok"
HMM. What did you say? Nilang....Manok????
What's that?? hahaha
According to Google Translate: Nilagang Manok is a Boiled Chicken Soup in English.
Nilagang Manok is one of the simplest Filipino Recipes by just boiling chicken with lots of vegetables in it. You can enjoy this dish by itself or with white rice.
We usually cook this dish when it's cold or rainy. It makes the soup taste even better or on a weekend after a long week of working.
I chose to cook Nilagang Manok or Boiled Chicken for dinner, but you can also cook with pork or beef. We also make a sauce to add more flavor, it's just soy sauce and lemons in it.
My hubby is not a fan of this dish for it is rich in ginger flavor. He hates ginger. haha, but for me, this is one of the best dishes my mom cooks since I was young.
Just thankful that my kids love this dish too. At least they'll remember when they are old how I cook them Nilanga whenever it's a cold day or when they were craving for it.
