In times of stress, some people eat more than they have ever eaten, others lose their appetite and don't want to eat anything. I remember people around me who lost incredibly unhealthy weight when they were stressed. Both are very unhealthy and a wrong way out. I'm on the side of people who eat nonsense when I'm stressed. It didn't used to be like this, but when I was preoccupied with a problem I could never eat anything. The human brain is really interesting and it continues to amaze me every day. Whenever there is something I said I wouldn't do, I find myself doing it. I used to be surprised and even judgmental when I saw people eating fast food!
I guess I didn't know about karma back then! Now I attribute the effect of my psychological problems on my diet to karma and a little bit to the people around me. I remember hearing a saying that a person is the average of 5 people around him/her. Now I understand this saying better. Most of the people around me are people who do not have a diet and consume fast food. I didn't change them but sadly they changed me.
Now it's time to take control again!
I collected all the unhealthy, packaged and unhealthy foods in my house and gave them to my neighbor. I created a new, healthy shopping list and went shopping. Keeping only healthy foods in the fridge and leaving no other alternatives for myself was necessary for me to maintain my determination on this path. It makes my job easier because I know that I give up when I can't reach it easily.
In the past, I used to prepare incredibly healthy recipes for myself and I used to enjoy eating them. I used to meet my sugar needs with fruits and I would never eat sweets and meat dishes that I did not know what was in them. As a result, I had a very healthy, fit and energetic body. I also felt very good mentally and lived in a positive way.
After experiencing that mental health and nutrition are one-to-one linked, I thought of Mustafa Kemal AtatΓΌrk's quote "A sound mind is found in a sound body!". He was never wrong! Now I am starting to work on getting the old positive, healthy me back. Most of all, I want to take steps towards a vegan diet. Even though I only consume animal food on certain days of the month, I don't want to give it up completely. In the society I grew up in, there is a clear rule that without meat, there is no food. Meat is used in almost every recipe and although it is difficult to grow up in this culture and completely eliminate meat from my life, I will do my best. I don't want to carry the energy of dying animals in my body! I want to lighten and purify...
