Here's my introduction to the Hive community

Hello to all hive community member across the world, I am new here and I have decided to write this post to introduce myself to Hive community members. I hope I am welcome and I look forward to being a valuable member of Hive giving and receiving value where and when I can.

About Me

My name is Akinsira Oluwatosin, I am a Nigerian and I hail from Ondo state in the south western region of Nigeria. I currently reside in Ibadan, Oyo state which is regarded as the second most developed city in the south west by some standards.

Professionally, I am a trained fashion designer and that has been my hobby for years before it became my career.

I derive a lot of joy in designing and sowing African native wears for males. That's my specialty.

My mom was/is into fashion design and I was able to pick up and learn a few from her while I was in secondary school before I went for my tertiary education, later on I had to go for a professional training before I could fully venture into fashion design.

I am a fully practicing Jehovah's witness and I feel it would be super cool if I could meet fellow witnesses from other parts of the world here on Hive.

Hobbies

I like to think of myself as an insatiable movie consumer, I watch a lot of movies from different genres and language. Used to watch a lot of Indian movies back in the days before I kind of outgrew them, now I just go to the cinema every weekend to relax and get myself updated on the newest movies in town.

In my free time you can always find me hanging out with my friends and being goofy. I love to have fun and go out to relaxation spots when I can.

My goals on Hive

Recently, I have been on the lookout for a medium to share my thoughts without having to be afraid of censorship and restrictions. After asking around, I got to find out that Hive is the right place for me to be and that is why I am here.

I aim to meet wonderful people here on Hive and learn from them while I also share my values with them.

If you are reading this and you like fashion particularly native African wears, I'd tell you to stay tuned because I plan on sharing a lot of content about my work, how I design, my inspirations and process. It's going to be a lot of fun and I hope to have that fun here on Hive.

Finding out about Hive

Big shoutout to @gotgame on this, he is a developer from Nigeria and we have been good friends since our secondary school days. He told me about Hive, made sure I signed up and has been teaching about how the ecosystem works. I am currently writing this post through HypeTurf which is a frontend he built to help people from our ends easily share their content on Hive.

I am excited because I can't shake the feeling that this is the beginning of a wonderful experience and I am rooting for Hive.
