RE: Splinterlands ramblings.... and a giveaway

I think the main problem for new players is that any SPS won is needed for staking, and any cards won can't be burned for DEC, so it'll take a long time before any profits can be used to buy cards. Long enough that people give up. Because why throw good money after bad?
Splinterlands is advertised as a free play-to-earn game, but then it turns out a $10 spellbook is needed to earn anything.
After buying the spellbook it's almost impossible to win even 1 season chest, much less any daily focus chests when using only starter cards and having no SPS staked.
The cards in the chests can't be sold, or even burnt for DEC, despite the boast that players have full control over their assets...
I know I felt tricked, and I imagine I am not alone, but I was lucky enough to find helpful people who delegated a bunch of cards and SPS until I could survive on my own. I doubt every new player is that fortunate.
Count me in, please

Exactly; I hope the team finally gets its head around this. Catering only to the ones with fat wallets means going in a downward spiral.
