nothing wrong with any technique of course :)
it is just believed, that when you hang the whole plant upside down (and remove the fan leaves) all the good juices from the stems (&root) go to the buds... i bet you know that :)
but yeah you can also make a tincture (or a fatty brew) from the stems+leaves so you can collect all the trichomes from them too :P

you can do it, but the simplest is just to take a shot or put in a cocktail :)
