Traveling the World #349 - Hakodate Bay Area @ Hakodate, Japan

Hi Everyone

Located near Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses is Hakodate Bay. The bay is quite long which stretches from the station all the way down to the warehouses then further some more. The main tourist area is where the warehouses are situated with various shopping and buildings built near there. As we can see on the map, there are loads to do and see if you have the time. From seafood shopping, food tasting, shopping, or beer tasting, you could even get on a sight seeing cruise from there. The cruise is seasonal so make sure to check before going to the terminal.

We took the opportunity to explore that area a bit and there were shops selling fresh seafood, dried local goods, a building selling just music boxes, a chemist for all your needs, lots of local toys, and so on. It was really a place with something for everyone.

Our kids particularly love the big stone floors as they could run on different stones and try not to touch the outside lines. It was a quiet stroll around the area, something you can experience in a semi big city which isn’t in the countryside. Hakodate always has a special place in my heart and these are just some of the many nice relaxing places that will take me back to this beautiful place.
