Bo De Pagoda

Hello friends. Today I would like to introduce to you a peaceful and cool place.

This is a temple located on the big mountain of Vung Tau, facing the front beach of Vung Tau. The temple has a large courtyard in the centre of the temple, here you will see the uniqueness of the temple through the decoration. This temple faces the sea, the highlight of the temple is the meticulously carved dragon statues. The temple grounds are planted with many trees and there is a large Bodhi tree in the middle of the temple yard. Did you know, the Bodhi tree is a symbol of Buddhism, so the Bodhi tree is often planted in a sanctuary such as a temple.

So right from the inauguration of the temple in 1970, the Bodhi tree has been planted since then. I visited the temple at noon, but thanks to the bodhi tree that shaded the whole yard, along with the whispering sea breeze, I didn't feel the heat at all. In return, I stayed and walked around the temple for a long time.

As far as I know about the temple, here the monks follow the original Buddhism. The pagoda was built in 1968, after many years of change and repair. Location: 25 Vi Ba, Ward 1, City. Vung Tau.

Standing from the top of the pagoda, you can see the front strait of Vung Tau shrinking into view. I can clearly see the small mountain where the statue of Christ is located, the blue sea, and the ships moving on the sea.

This place is divided into 4 compartments, a main hall behind the Buddha statue, a stupa, a place for male monks, and a place for female monks.

The main hall of the temple is located on the right from the entrance gate, the main hall is built with a high foundation, so there are steps to go up. The handle of the stairs leading to the main hall is designed with a special stone dragon shape, extremely dynamic, creating a majestic point for the main hall of the temple. The pillars of the main hall are also covered with jade greenstone, mixed with the yellow colour of the house.

Below the stairs, just up the middle of the stairs, you will encounter a Bodhi tree with huge roots right in front of the main gate of the temple. Under the Bodhi tree are 2 Buddha statues, I am especially impressed with the Buddha statue with 7 dragon heads above, wrapped around the Buddha. The statue is yellow, creating more majesty.

The main hall is spacious and clean, accommodating about 100 people. Here, the Buddha image is worshipped very dignified, right from the main hall looking out into the distance is the sea, on the right is an 8m Buddha statue sitting near the main door of the temple.

Besides, right at the 8m Buddha ancestral statue below are flower beds planted and arranged meticulously. Besides, there are miniature scenes with large statues in the middle of the lake, in the lake is planted with duckweed to create the green colour of the lake.
