Shattered tells the story of the Randalls, a married couple who have a daughter named Sophie. Neil Randall (Gerard Butler) is a successful businessman working in an advertising company, Neil seems like the man who has it all, a beautiful wife, a great job with a juicy salary and an adorable daughter. Everything seems to be going perfect for him in his life, he is almost at the top and is even about to be promoted. They each had different plans that day, Abby would spend the day with a friend and Neil would go on a trip with his boss, when they were together in the car it turns out that a man was hiding in the back of the van and threatens them with a gun, he warns that he is holding their daughter hostage and that they must comply with his demands or else little Sophie would pay the consequences. What the kidnapper asks for is very strange and everything becomes a madness that seems to have no end. What will be the kidnapper's motive? Because he doesn't seem to want money.

Acorralados cuenta la historia de los Randall una pareja casada que tienen una hija llamada Sophie. Neil Randall (Gerard Butler) es un exitoso hombre de negocios que trabaja en una compañía de publicidad, Neil parece el hombre que lo tiene todo, una esposa hermosa, un excelente trabajo con un jugoso sueldo y una hija adorable. Todo parece salirle perfecto en su vida, está casi en la cima e incluso está a punto de ser ascendido. Cada uno tenía planes diferentes ese día, Abby pasaría el día con una amiga y Neil se iría de viaje con su jefe, cuando iban juntos en el auto resulta que un hombre estaba escondido en la parte trasera de la camioneta y los amenaza con una pistola, avisa que tiene a su hija de rehén y que deben cumplir con sus demandas o de lo contrario la pequeña Sophie pagaría las consecuencias. Lo que pide el secuestrador es muy extraño y todo se vuelve una locura que no parece tener fin. ¿Cuál será el motivo de el secuestrador? Porque no parece querer dinero.

I saw this film the first time on TV one night, you don't enjoy a movie that much with the cuts and such, but I had the chance to watch it one more time and I must say it's a pretty intense story, it plays with your feelings, many things are not what they seem, it's full of action, everything happens too fast and it's exciting all the way through. I know the point of a movie review is to get the reader in the mood to consider watching it, and this is definitely a movie where the best thing in the world is not knowing anything in advance, so I'll keep the details to a minimum and talk about why I liked it so much.

Este filme lo vi la primera vez en la TV una noche, no se disfruta tanto una película con los cortes y así, pero tuve la oportunidad de verla una vez más y debo decir que es una historia bastante intensa, que juega con tus sentimientos, muchas cosas no son lo que parece, está llena de acción, todo sucede demasiado rápido y es emocionante en todo momento. Sé que el punto de una reseña de una película es despertar las ganas en el lector para que considere verla, y definitivamente esta es una película donde lo mejor del mundo es no saber nada con antelación, así que dejaré los detalles al mínimo y hablaré de porqué me gustó tanto.

The main male character Neil played by the talented actor Gerard Butler is the focus in this story, through him you can clearly see how far a person can go to preserve who he is and how far he is capable of going to maintain his seemingly perfect lifestyle and save his little daughter. This character is pushed to the limit, they put a lot of effort into it, the acting is perfect and the character as such is very, very complete, I wouldn't be surprised to know that it is based on someone's story or personality, because it certainly doesn't feel like a fictional or invented character, it is very human and real.

El personaje principal masculino Neil interpretado por el talentoso actor Gerard Butler es el enfoqué en esta historia, a través de él se puede ver claramente hasta donde puede llegar una persona por preservar quien es y hasta donde es capaz de llegar por mantener su estilo de vida aparentemente perfecto y por salvar a su pequeña hija. Este personaje lo llevan al límite, se esmeraron muchísimo en él, la actuación es perfecta y el personaje como tal es muy pero muy completo, no me sorprendería saber que está basado en la historia de alguien o en su personalidad, porque ciertamente so se siente como un personaje ficticio o inventado, es muy humano y real.

As for Abby Randall (Maria Bello,) Niel's wife is shown as a very lucky woman, with a great life and a family that loves her, yet she gets caught up in that madness where she goes through a lot and makes it clear how she somehow keeps her cool and composure in the face of such a terrible situation. You can tell how much she loves and loves her husband, she is like his complement and supports him unconditionally in everything, besides she looks like an excellent mother who adores her daughter and has her in first place. She is a very beautiful, sexy, loving and above all very intelligent woman, ready for anything.

En cuanto a Abby Randall (María Bello), la esposa de Niel la muestran como una mujer muy afortunada, con una vida estupenda y una familia que la ama, sin embargo se ve envuelta en esa locura donde pasa por mucho y deja en claro como de alguna forma mantiene la calma y la compostura ante esa situación tan terrible. Se nota cuánto quiere y ama a su esposo, ella es como su complemento y lo apoya en todo incondicionalmente, además de se ve como una excelente madre que adora a su hija y la tiene en primer lugar. Es una mujer muy hermosa, sexy, cariñosa y por sobre todo muy inteligente, dispuesta a todo.

I must say that the actor playing the kidnapper Tom (Pierce Brosnan) played his role to perfection.

Lo fascinante de esta historia es el motivo tras el secuestro, además de las tareas absurdas con tiempo límite y demás añaden ese toque de desesperación donde demuestran como unos padres son capaces de hacer lo que les pidan por salvar a sus hijos, de hecho el secuestrador menciona algo al respecto "Pondré a prueba eso que tanto dicen los padres que harían lo que fuera por sus hijos, eso es lo que voy a comprobar" y habiendo dicho eso pone a los Randall en situaciones bastante incómodas abusando del poder que tiene porqué en su posición no tiene nada que perder, pero desde el principio se nota el desdén con el que trata a Niel. Debo decir que el actor que interpreta al secuestrador Tom (Pierce Brosnan) interpretó su papel a la perfección.

This story is VERY elaborate, really very well thought out and if there is one thing I can tell you is that this is a movie to watch more than once, because unlike other movies this one in particular you see it with different eyes and you pick up things that you miss the first time you watch it because you don't know the reason for things, but once you watch it again (knowing in advance the ending) you can see those details that although they were always there there was no reason to see them otherwise and that is something I found truly fascinating in this film, the twists and turns they give are fantastic and the way the story unfolds is fluid and entertaining at all times, you will be on the edge of your seat during almost the entire movie and the ending I assure you that it will surprise you, you will love it.

Esta historia es MUY elaborada, realmente muy bien pensada y si algo les puedo decir es que esta es una película para verla más de una vez, porque a diferencia de otras películas ésta en particular se ve con distintos ojos y captas cosas que se te escapan la primera vez que la ves porque no sabes el motivo de las cosas, pero una vez que la miras de nuevo (sabiendo con anticipación el final) puedes ver esos detalles que aunque siempre estuvieron allí no había razón para verlos de otra manera y eso es algo que encontré verdaderamente fascinante en este filme, los giros que dan son fantásticos y la forma en la que la historia se desarrolla es fluida y entretenida en todo momento, estarás al filo del sillón durante casi toda la película y el final te aseguro que te va a sorprender, te va a encantar.

La recomiendo muchísimo, por supuesto que debes verla y si no la has visto más de una vez te invito a que lo hagas para que al igual que yo disfrutes de esta grandiosa película pero desde otra perspectiva. Hay acción desenfrenada, momento intensos, giros inesperados, dentales difíciles de interpretar, escenas realmente intensas y igual que los protagonistas esta historia te llevará al límite y no te dejarás de sorprender en todo momento. Aún si lo tuyo no son las películas estoy 99.9% de que te va a gustar, probablemente sea de tus favoritas después de verla.

I highly recommend it, of course you must see it and if you have not seen it more than once I invite you to do it so that like me you can enjoy this great movie but from another perspective. There is unbridled action, intense moments, unexpected twists, difficult to interpret teeth, really intense scenes and just like the main characters this story will take you to the limit and you will not stop being surprised at all times. Even if movies are not your thing I am 99.9% sure you will like it, it will probably be one of your favorites after watching it.
