ROSES AND CHAINS
ROSES AND CHAINS
Burst of fire that burns across the sky,
The incidental year of 2006, Daring hearts alone remember.
The lone rose in my hand is my bondage.
Her thorns albeit it ting are merciless
They prick my finger and draw forth sacred blood.
Rose is love, love is freedom.
But this rose I hold is none but bondage.
The rose that gives me love to grow,
Its chains yet hold me back from growth.
Like robbing Peter to pay Paul, A process I liken to roses and chains.
Let the roses of my life paint the sky, Loosen the fetters that hold me down.
I won't be human if I went extinct. I'd be human if I lived and bloomed like roses.
I look up to the sky to see drizzles of rain
Melt my chain away. At last I shall be free again.
