I very much agree with your conclusion. When I joined steem, I was with the notion that steem will overtake eth and all the other smart chains. I later grew to understand that each chain has a purpose. And with regard to Eth moving to POS, it was bound to happen with time since PoW had proven to be unscalable solution.
