Gratos recuerdos cuando apenas siendo niños junto a mis primos y yo utilizábamos este teléfono como método de bromas y chistes, si bien no podíamos hacerlo todo el tiempo era muy divertido saber que muchas de las personas que compraban las tarjetas de llamadas en las bodegas cercanas las desechaban sin terminar de gastar su uso.
Pasaba como cuando los niños en las fiestas solían recolectar las sobras de las botellas para rellenar 1 solo por diversión, así éramos en esos años 90s con esas tarjetitas.
Si bien no todas son historias divertidas también tengo recientemente una historia donde un compañero del trabajo me contaba que una vez para terminar una relación toxica con una mujer que no le dejaba “ser libre” se mudó de ciudad y le llamo con uno de estos teléfonos para explicarle que estaba muy mal como para estar con ella en estos momentos que le diera tiempo.
Naturalmente hablamos de unos años donde el internet era solo un concepto y casi nadie podía contar con el lujo de tener un teléfono móvil por lo que lograr contactarlo más allá de una llamada de línea fija era bastante difícil, luego de eso casi no tuvo contacto con ella, a pesar de que si se encontró durante años con familiares y amigos en común de ella.
Seguramente muchas personas tienen historias diferentes con estos teléfonos que quizás no sean tan bonitas de recordar, por ejemplo, recibir amenazas o quizás ofertas estafa que en aquellos tiempos no eran tan comunes, pero sí que habían.
Es inimaginable creer que este mundo del siglo pasado era real ante tanta tecnología recuerdo muy bien unas palabras del actor famoso Will Smith que decía “a mis 15 años yo era muy estúpido, pero lo era en privado” haciendo referencia a que no todos tenían acceso a tu vida tan fácilmente como ahora con las redes sociales y este teléfono es prueba y recuerdo de ello.
Fond memories when we were just kids with my cousins and I used this phone as a method of jokes and pranks, although we could not do it all the time it was very funny to know that many of the people who bought the calling cards in nearby warehouses discarded them without finishing their use.
It was like when kids at parties used to collect leftover bottles to refill 1 just for fun, that's how we were in those 90s with those little cards.
Although not all of them are funny stories, I also have recently a story where a co-worker told me that once to end a toxic relationship with a woman who did not let him "be free" he moved to another city and called her with one of these phones to explain that he was too bad to be with her right now to give her time.
Naturally we are talking about a few years where the internet was just a concept and almost no one could count on the luxury of having a cell phone so to contact him beyond a landline call was quite difficult, after that he had almost no contact with her, although he did meet for years with family and friends in common with her.
Surely many people have different stories with these phones that may not be so nice to remember, for example, receiving threats or perhaps scam offers that in those days were not so common, but there were.
It is unimaginable to believe that this world of the last century was real before so much technology, I remember very well some words of the famous actor Will Smith who said "when I was 15 years old I was very stupid, but I was very stupid in private" referring to the fact that not everyone had access to your life as easily as now with social networks and this phone is proof and memory of it.
