Halua Mocktail Coffee
This is my first halua mocktail coffee.
All strong coffee with a bitter, sweet and fresh taste that blends exactly with the atmosphere that night.
I promised to meet an old friend who now lives far out of town. It was almost impossible for us to meet because of each other's busy work schedules and the distance between them. But, that night, we decided to meet at a coffee shop with a home-based concept called "Rumah Nenek". RUMAH NENEK means grandma's house. This fits perfectly with the atmosphere of a coffee shop with only the front porch of a middle-aged woman's house.
The owner is originally from Aceh. Although it looks very simple, but the menu served makes me very curious. Many new menu lists that caught my eye. And what my friend recommended was the Halua mocktail.
Hmmm... Mocktails remind us of fruit juices and other soft drinks, right? However, mocktail coffee is a coffee dish that is combined with other flavors, such as lemon, mint, fuits and others.
What I ordered right now was the halua mocktail. Coffee with a blend of mint, irish, and vanilla flavors smells and tastes sticky and fresh at the same time.
When I smelled the aroma, I remembered the coffee flavored candy which is very famous in my country, the name is KOPIKO candy.
Out of curiosity, I finally took a sip and tasted it. The first taste that arises is the bitterness of coffee and the smell of vanilla, only after a while there is a fresh mint taste last.
The cooling sensation of this mint is a completely new taste to me. Surprisingly, because the barista served it with just the right amount, a cup of halua mocktail coffee became the perfect companion for this evening.
RUMAH NENEK coffee shop is a bit far from the main road. That's why, earlier when we headed here, my friend and I almost got on the wrong track. But luckily the coffee here is good, and the atmosphere is calm.
I had a talk with the shop owner's mother, according to her, her coffee shop has become a regular customer for her son's friends who are still students at a state Islamic university in this city.
Sometimes, they come to just have coffee and spend time, sometimes, they have coffee while doing their homework from their college.
RUMAH NENEK's coffee shop has quite flexible opening hours, sometimes it's open until 03.00am.
In addition to coffee with modern dishes, RUMAH NENEK coffee shop also serves single origin coffee such as Aceh Gayo and Kerinci.
While enjoying a cup of halua mocktail, I listened to my friend tell me about her adorable daughter. Alunna is her name. This is my second meeting with Alunna. Back then, when we first met, he was little and still not with me. Now that she is five years old, she has become more agile and good at talking.
I always enjoy listening to my friends talk. It felt like I was useful even if all I did was listen.
I'm sure, not everyone needs the advice of others when they are telling their sadness. Sometimes, they just need to be heard to lighten their load.
The later the night, the less coffee left, the more intense our chat. The more hao rights we share with other women. Towards midnight, we finally decided to go home and part ways. Alunna also looks tired and sleepy.
Thank you friend, thank you Halua mocktail, thank you, RUMAH NENEK. And thank you, Hive for reading my writing.
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
please share my content if you feel my content is good for everyone to read. Thank you. Let's be friends!
I love the family aspect of the coffee shop - that you were able to talk about the owner's mother, and the son etc. The idea that the coffee shop is pulling people together is beautiful.
