RE: Day 1807: 5 Minute Freewrite: Monday - Prompt: eponym

A fantastic prompt that had me checking the dictionary before I started my freewrite. Here is what happened in my 5 minutes.

“We’ve long known the power names, which is why we rarely say them.” A mother and daughter walk down a forested path, gathering mushrooms, flowers, and plants. “All plants have names, given to them by us, but these are not their true names.”

“Can you teach me their true names mother?”

The mother laughed, “No my little one, but they can. If you learn how to ask, and learn how to listen.”

“Plants can talk to me?”

“Yes,” she smiled, “If we are still, we can hear their voices in the wind. And if we wait long enough, they might tell us their name.”
