Practically, many are not so equipped with the required knowledge to differentiate the difference between Investment and savings.

Savings is an extracted portion of a profit, kept aside to serve a later purpose while investment is the term used to describe having a certain amount of money put in a business or a system that is expected to either generate a gain or a loss.

Having to know what savings and Investment is, what is expected of us, are we to save more, invest less or invest more and save less?

To conclude on which is better and safer, we should have a clear description of what each represent before making a final decision.

WHAT IS SAVINGS AND HOW DOES IF HELP OUR FINANCIAL LIFE?

Savings is the left over that we possibly have access to. It is a type of resources that has a low risk of losing its value.

Keeping your money in a safe bank account or in a secret place or anywhere you intend to stock your cash doesn't reduce it in value except in special circumstances but a better way to describe savings is a fund that is available when we need it.

The following reasons are why we save:

  1. To sought out emergencies :

Life in general is filled with emergencies, everyone gets in one sought of Financial cage in which a certain amount is needed to sought out some messes or bills.

In cases like this, having a savings is always advisable because it is accessible and available when needed.

  1. Savings can be used as a capital :

Aside the fact that emergencies arise daily, savings also give us the chance to start up a business. It is more like you have your profit or a portion of it stacked in a place and at a certain period of time you break the bank and invest In a business.

It is quite satisfying if at the long run, we still have to save to invest.

What is Investment and why should we do it?

Investment is a way you save to multiply your resources.

Your money is stacked somewhere or with someone or probably in a few assets. The essence of an investment is to grow your funds and secure you a future spending without altering your invested capital.

IS IT GOOD TO INVEST?

Yes, in as much you want to grow in Financial capacity, it is necessary you put your money to work.

Unlike savings, your Investment isn't a 100% gain assured but just like I day many times " A wise investor, invest in resources that is scalable"

Scalability in Investment can be defined using two words "Knowledge about what you want to invest into and your investing power"

People who jump on resources to get rich overnight may likely loose their money quick and fast without anyone to come rescue them.

Investment is only wise when you are knowledgeable about what you intend to put your money into and you have the required mindset to sustain the investment for either a short time or a long time.

Which one then should I do more?

You can always do as much as you want depending on what your goals are.

We all have emergencies that is to come and we all need to grow our resources. It now depends on which you want more.

Maybe you have the mind to grow your money or you just want to have your currency stacked in a place where it doesn't decrease or increase in value.

Getting involved with the two is important, it is yours to decide which one is more aligned to your end goal.

Let me know in the comment section which one you think is preferable.

To save more or to Invest more?

Awesome thought process. I’ll just like to add one more thing. There are savings that could also be investments, for example, Hives stable coin HBD pays interests rate of 12% at the moment. So people who save their money in it are also investing in a way as they recieve returns on their savings.

I couldn’t agree more

Well defined write up. People need to get the different between savings and investment... Cos they way peole just say investment by word of mouth then treat it like savings is really baffling. Good work @themi
