X (Review/Reseña)

In 1979, a group of young filmmakers are preparing to make a film for adults. Looking for a remote place to do it, they find a small shack rented by an elderly couple in Texas. There, the group of inexperienced filmmakers prepares to witness something never before seen.

En 1979 un grupo de jóvenes cineastas se preparan para hacer una película para adultos, buscando un lugar lejano para hacerlo se encuentran con una pequeña choza alquilada por una pareja de ancianos en Texas, allí, el grupo de inexpertos cineastas se prepara para presenciar algo nunca visto.

There are many films this year or at the end of last year that have made a lot of noise on social networks and in the film world, the truth seems incredible to me and it excites me to see so many new productions that contribute something to audiovisual entertainment, one of those movies is Pearl, about which I was looking for information while I was looking for where to see it or where it would be released, I came across that it has a prequel, called X, so I decided to look it up since it would be easier to find a movie with a longer release time.

One of the things that impressed me about the movie is its budget, only a million dollars to make it, this reminds me of the movie documentary I saw where horror movies were always the ones with the lowest budget. In this case, with a million dollars they manage to make an entertaining and bloody story. I must say that horror is not my favorite genre, but I got to see many of those movies years ago because they were the favorites of my mother and my uncles, so I have seen more horror of the old than of the new, in this case, the film feels that if it was filmed in 1979, the air of terror it gives is like that old that you could expect some character to do something and not a demonic spirit come out of nowhere; which to me makes a boring horror movie.

It is new and entertaining how things begin and end, with a group of young people making a movie for adults until the end showing the reason for the murders and who really does it. Seeing this story first that Pearl makes me want to see his prequel more eagerly, how a person ends up being that way as his spirit decays along with his dreams.

Another thing that impressed me was the cast, that they charged so cheaply to be in a movie with such a small budget, even so, it was a smart move how the money was used and how the movie was made, without a doubt it was a story that I enjoy watching, despite being a genre that is not my favorite, now I am looking for its prequel and I am waiting for its sequel that, according to what I saw, will be called Maxxine.

Hay muchas películas este año o a finales del año pasado que han hecho mucho ruido en redes sociales y en el mundo cinematográfico, la verdad me parece increíble y me emociona al ver tantas producciones que son nuevas, que aporten algo al entretenimiento audiovisual, una de esas películas es Pearl, de la que estuve buscando información mientras buscaba donde verla o donde se estrenaría, me tope con que tiene una precuela, llamada X, así que decidí buscarla ya que seria mas sencillo buscar una película con más tiempo de estreno.

Una de las cosas que me impresiono de la película es su presupuesto, solo un millón de dolares para hacerlo, esto me hace recordar al documental de películas que vi donde las películas de terror siempre eran las que menos presupuesto tenían. En este caso, con un millón de dolares llegan a hacer una historia entretenida y sangrienta. Debo decir que el terror no es mi genero favorito, pero llegue a ver muchas de esas películas años atrás porque eran las favoritas de mi madre y de mis tíos, así que he visto más terror del antiguo que del nuevo, para este caso, la película se siente que si fue filmada en 1979, el aire de terror que da es como ese antiguo que podías esperar que algún personaje hiciera algo y no un espíritu endemoniado saliera de la nada; lo que para mí hace una película de terror aburrida.

Es nuevo y entretenido el como empiezan y acaban las cosas, con un grupo de jóvenes haciendo una película para adultos hasta el final mostrando el porque de los asesinatos y quien los hace verdaderamente. Ver esta historia primero que Pearl me hace querer ver con más ganas su precuela, el como una persona termina siendo de esa manera conforme va decayendo su espíritu junto a sus sueños.

Otra cosa que me impresiono fue el cast, de que cobraran tan barato para salir en una película con un presupuesto tan pequeño, aun así, fue una inteligente jugada el como fue usado el dinero y como fue hecha la película, sin duda alguna fue una historia que disfrute ver, a pesar de ser un genero que no es mi favorito, ahora busco su precuela y espero su secuela que según vi, se llamara Maxxine.
