[ES-EN] Spotify y Audius lanzan integración de NFTs en sus plataformas de streaming

Hace varias semanas Spotify anunció la integración de NFTs en los perfiles de los artistas en su plataforma con lo que confirmó su entrada al ecosistema Web3. Ahora, Audius ha implementado la misma función en su app pero no sólo para artistas, sino también para oyentes y coleccionistas. ¿Coincidencia? No creo, pero aún así vamos a hablar brevemente de esta nueva funcionalidad en ambas aplicaciones líderes en el sector de streaming de música.

Several weeks ago Spotify announced the integration of NFTs into artist profiles on its platform, confirming its entry into the Web3 ecosystem. Now, Audius has implemented the same feature in its app but not only for artists, but also for listeners and collectors. Coincidence? I don't think so, but let's still talk briefly about this new functionality in both leading music streaming apps.

Spotify ha estado trabajando fuertemente desde hace mucho tiempo para aprovechar esta tecnología criptográfica moderna con el objetivo de hacer frente a apps competitivas del mercado, adaptándose a las nuevas formas de consumo internacional y de monetización. El gigante de la música en línea ha sabido cómo integrar soluciones Web3 en su nicho para mantener a sus usuarios dentro de la plataforma con esta nueva variante.

Spotify has been working hard for a long time to take advantage of this modern cryptographic technology in order to face competitive apps in the market, adapting to new forms of international consumption and monetization. The online music giant has known how to integrate Web3 solutions into its niche to keep its users within the platform with this new variant.

Con la opción token-enable muy pronto los artistas podrán “ocultar” su música para ser desbloqueada por tokens no fungibles (NFTs) para su reproducción. Esto les servirá para los creadores mantener su audiencia a la vez que incrementan su fanbase alrededor de su música, con los que pueden desprenderse muchos casos de uso como: anunciar la preventa de un EP, restringir contenido exclusivo o NSFW a menores de edad, colocar canciones en modo privado o incluso conocer la cantidad de oyentes que ya poseen una wallet.

With token-enable option, artists will soon be able to "hide" their music to be unlocked for non fungible tokens (NFTs) for playback. This will help creators maintain their audience while increasing their fanbase around their music, which can lead to many use cases such as: announcing the pre-sale of an EP, restricting exclusive or NSFW content to minors, placing songs in private mode or even knowing the number of listeners who already own a wallet.

Para que un usuario pueda hacer uso de esta modalidad a la hora de escuchar música, si el artista tiene habilitada esta funcionalidad, deberá tocar en el botón de reproducir y conectar su billetera donde holdea el token que el artista haya requerido para el acceso a sus obras, y luego ya podrá reproducir sus canciones.

In order for a user to make use of this modality when listening to music, if the artist has enabled this functionality, the user must tap on the play button and connect its wallet where the token required by the artist for access to its works is stored, and then the user will be able to play the songs.

En cambio, Audius ha sacado una función parecida, pero ésta no limita a los artistas, sino que también puede ser usada por oyentes, coleccionistas e incluso otros creadores de NFTs. Si un usuario quiere hacer uso de esta funcionalidad, sólo debe escoger el modo de visibilidad con la que su track se lanzará en el campo donde por defecto sale Public. Recuerda que anteriormente había explicado el proceso de subir canciones a esta plataforma.

On the other hand, Audius has released a similar function, but this one is not limited to artists, but can also be used by listeners, collectors and even other creators of NFTs. If a user wants to make use of this functionality, he/she only has to choose the visibility mode with which his track will be launched in the field where Public is displayed by default. Remember that I had previously explained the process of uploading songs to this platform.

Por el momento sólo los tokens de la red de Ethereum (ERC-721) y Solana podrán usarse para bloquear música con los objetivos de casos de uso similares que para Spotifyantes mencionados, resultando ser una vía útil para que las audiencias adquieran NFTs antes de escuchar la música.

At the moment only Ethereum (ERC-721) and Solana network tokens will be able to be used to block music with the similar use case objectives as for Spotify above, proving to be a useful avenue for audiences to acquire NFTs before listening to music.

La combinación de una experiencia token-gate con tecnología NFT es una innovación crucial que les facilitará a ambas plataformas de streaming una adopción más completa en su nicho, a la vez que los creadores potencian sus colecciones de arte mientras le atribuyen valor a su música.
