Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town is up next

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

Back to the vending machines in the Celadon department store and purchasing a spare fresh water, Great balls, Super potions and Revives ready for continuing on.

Luckily the fresh water is usable on the guard heading into Saffron city who is going to share it with the others, meaning Goliath can travel through towns with ease!

After going through and up to Celadon city way to see the daycare, he forgot there was no Pokemon left there for looking after, so he headed off and back to Lavender town. Upon getting into Pokemon Tower he was greeted by Hive, who wanted a battle to check how their Pokemon were faring up, against one another and it would first be the Magnemite.

Vulpix got some embers out before changing to Venonat and using double edge to finish off this Magnemite, helping Vulpix reach level twenty one.

A Rhyhorn wasn't hard to beat as the next Pokemon from Hive since Wartortle's water gun was hitting with the critical hit for an instant take down.

Lucky Hive was able to get an Articuno somehow and it is a great legendary.. level is a little too low but could become super tough as it is leveled up more later on, for now though the Grimer thunderbolts had to ensure it couldn't do much damage with ice!

Goliath was almost through this battle with only two Pokemon left to defeat.. Weepinbell could be fought with Shellder and Vulpix. Shellder got it confused which along with tri attack, weakened it quite a bit for Vulpix.

Once Shellder got defeated and had been of good use in this fight, Vulpix came out to get off a couple of ember attacks. It got poisoned at one point but fire against a weakened grass Pokemon meant it was a win for the Vulpix.

Finally onto the last Pokemon which his starter Growlithe, has now evolved into Arcanine which drastically boosts its strength, shame the roar doesn't do anything and lowering Dratini's defence isn't a good plan..

Thunder wave to paralyse Arcanine to be safe before using multiple bubblebeams and for this time around, the fight with Hive was an easy one. But next time might be a lot harder to get through it, Dratini hit level twenty six though too!

A quick heal was done ready for the Pokemon Tower climb before the first battle, facing a channeler who had a Lickitung.. the ghosts have really not been revealed as the Pokemon it previously was.

Vulpix ensured it was enough of a match with the embers hitting well on target, weakening it further until that final ember gave a satisfying victory. Right after the battle though there would be a Graveler appearing which wasn't faced and neither was the wild Lickitung, trainer battles mostly for now.

So far, this was not a tough set of battles although there was only really one or two Pokemon being used for the trainer fights, but the Poliwhirl in the next fight had to go toe to toe, with Wartortle who was able to bite its way to victory and same as against the follow up Seel!

It was about time to finally teach dig to a Pokemon and also teach Mega Drain, so this would free up more room for other items being found here.

Vulpix was the one learning dig which would be a powerhouse of a move to use, to help boost its gaining of experience and solo battling, while Venonat was able to learn mega drain to give an additional stronger move, but also being able to heal itself.

Goliath was going around to collect items and face the weaker trainers, clearing some room before bracing to face the tougher ones up the next levels.

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
