Please consider casting or updating your Witness votes!
Hello HIVE!
Beard here! For those who don't know me, I am the creator of the PIZZA token and a HIVE Witness with my fellow awesome Hiver @hivetrending operating the @pizza.witness account and node.
For the new users, all HIVE accounts are able to cast up to 30 votes for Witnesses who help process blocks and contribute to the HIVE network. These nodes typically have hardware and networking costs associated with them and we find that while some are excited to be more involved, they cannot sustain the long-term cost of their node or they simply move on to other things, leaving those nodes dormant.
While we understand that things happen and that not every node will operate forever, the votes we cast remain even if the node goes offline. Now, a recent hard fork change will help with this in the long-term when it comes to votes falling off, but you can make real change now by either casting your votes or by reviewing the votes you may have already cast!
If we take a look at the poorly edited graphic below, you'll notice that quite a few Witness nodes have either not updated their price feeds or not updated their software versions for quite some time. All of these nodes are top 100 Witnesses with some of them being top 50!
This means that your votes are being wasted on Witnesses who are no longer updating their nodes, price feeds, or are not processing blocks and are no longer sustaining the network. I implore you to take the time to reconsider if you are voting for an offline node!
To cast a vote, navigate over to the Witness page here.
The Witness page below should now be in-front of you. You can simply scroll down through the list of Witnesses and check out what they've contributed to (if anything) one by one. Click the + at the end of the description to expand the text! You can cast a vote by clicking on the checkmark on the right-hand side.
You can also search for a specific Witness using the search field to the right! Below is an example for searching for the PIZZA team Witness node!
DELEGATE TO PIZZA
You can also delegate your HP to our @hive.pizza curation account and farm your share of the daily $PIZZA rewards pool! The reward pool increases 10 tokens every 10k HP that is delegated to the account!

We're hoping to continue climbing in rank so that we can one day begin to cover our expenses (we currently operate at a loss). Once we get to that point, we can begin looking at options like that or proceeding further into the buy-back and burn program.

Gotta start a campaign on why voting matters
Hey - great info, thank you! I only started hive a week ago and I've joined PIZZA and cast my vote as above. Those are my only votes so far though. Do you have a suggestion as to how to use my other votes? Or should I just wait till I come across people I respect?

I don't know much about the witnessing and HP delegation stuff. But whenever I see a witness request for pizza I always click it. Hopefully I'm helping in some way lol. I'll take a look at the list and try to make sure my votes are counted towards something at least.
