🇪🇸 ~ El día que Apolo llego a nuestras vidas fue un día intenso, fue en Abril del año pasado después de haber pasado casi 2 semanas en cama con una lesión en la espalda; cuando pude caminar lo primero que quise hacer fue salir para ver a Dante y me encontré con que tenía una miasis en el cuello (casi me desmayo).

🇺🇸 ~ The day Apollo came into our lives it was an intense day, it was in April of last year after having spent almost 2 weeks in bed with a back injury; when I was able to walk the first thing I wanted to do was to go out to see Dante and I found that I had a myasis in my neck (I almost fainted).

Llame de emergencia a mi hermano y cuando llegó a casa y con instrucciones de un Veterinario vía telefónica, comenzamos a extraerle las larvas de forma manual... fue una experiencia traumática y triste, en el tiempo que estuve inmovilizada sin poder bajar las escaleras al piso donde estaba Dante una mosca plantó sus huevos en su cuello y nadie se dio cuenta (Dante tenia un pelaje y un manto denso).

I called my brother as an emergency and when he arrived home and with instructions from a Veterinarian via telephone, we began to extract the larvae manually... It was a traumatic and sad experience, during the time I was immobilized and unable to go downstairs to the floor where Dante was, a fly planted its eggs in his neck and no one noticed (Dante had a dense coat and fur).

Mientras sufríamos sacando las larvas con mucha dificultad, escuchamos el llanto de unos gatitos a lo lejos, pero era un llanto fuerte y yo sentí mucha desesperación, se me hizo un vacío en el estomago y lentamente salí a caminar por los alrededores para ver qué pasaba.

While we were struggling to remove the larvae with great difficulty, we heard the cry of some kittens in the distance, but it was a loud cry and I felt a lot of despair, I felt an emptiness in my stomach and slowly walked around to see what was going on.

Así en el patio lleno de escombros de una casa cercana no habitada habían dos niños sosteniendo dos gatitos muy pequeños, los gatitos gritaban desesperados de dolor y yo me horroricé. No se qué les estaban haciendo pero les grité que los soltaran, sospecho que les estaban haciendo maldades porque buscaron un lugar escondido nada apto para que dos niños jueguen completamente solos y tan lejos de sus casas.

So in the rubble filled yard of a nearby uninhabited house there were two children holding two very small kittens, the kittens were screaming in desperate pain and I was horrified. I don't know what they were doing to them but I yelled at them to let them go, I suspect they were being mean to them because they were looking for a hidden place not suitable for two children to play all alone and so far from their homes.

Cuando esos dos gatitos cayeron al suelo, lo agarre y me los traje a la casa, los guardé en un baño, les di agua y comida y volví a sentarme lentamente al lado de Dante para seguir sacándole larvas, mi pobre hermano estaba pálido.

When those two kittens fell to the ground, I grabbed them and brought them into my home, put them in a bath, gave them water and food, and slowly sat back down next to Dante to continue pulling larvae out of him, my poor brother was pale.

Mas tarde por la noche volvi al baño donde guarde a los gatitos y pude examinarlos mejor. Estaban en los huesos, dolorosamente flacos, apenas eran piel y huesos y no pesaban casi nada, estaban enfermos y tenían pulgas y diarrea de color gris.

Later in the evening I returned to the bathroom where I kept the kittens and was able to examine them better. They were in the bones, painfully skinny, barely skin and bones and weighed next to nothing, they were sick and had fleas and gray-colored diarrhea.

Pero maullaban con mucha fuerza, y se sostenían a mi ropa con sus garras y trataban de trepar frenéticos; sus cuerpos estaban muy maltratados pero tenían ojos enormes muy brillantes. Hubo discusiones en casa porque a mi familia no les gustan los gatos, pero yo me prometí que no los regresaría a la calle.

But they meowed very loudly, and they held on to my clothes with their claws and tried to climb frantically; their bodies were very battered but they had huge eyes very bright. There were arguments at home because my family does not like cats, but I promised myself that I would not return them to the street.

Esa es la historia de cómo Apolo y su hermanita Luna llegaron a nuestras vidas. Y despues de muchos cuidados, medicina y buena comida, ambos crecieron bastante bien, gorditos y saludables.

That's the story of how Apollo and his little sister Luna came into our lives. And after lots of care, medicine and good food, they both grew up quite well, chubby and healthy.

Apolo y Luna son gatos extraños, aman que los carguen, les encanta la compañía, son muy vocales, y extremadamente cariñosos con las personas... a mi se me arruga el corazón porque siento que ellos no han olvidado el tiempo que pasaron en la calle, el hambre y quien sabe qué mas penurias.

Apolo and Luna are strange cats, they love to be carried, they love company, they are very vocal, and extremely affectionate with people... my heart crinkles because I feel that they have not forgotten the time they spent on the street, the hunger and who knows what other hardships.

Ambos son gatitos muy agradecidos de carácter dulce, de hecho, su comportamiento te recuerda más al de un perro, porque aunque Luna y Apolo son gatos, no les gusta estar solos y adoran los mimos en todo momento.

Both are very grateful kittens with a sweet nature, in fact, their behavior reminds you more of a dog's, because although Luna and Apollo are cats, they don't like to be alone and love cuddles at all times.

Luna fue felizmente adoptada por @Vanuzza el año pasado y tiene una hermosa vida llena de amor y muchos cuidados, su personalidad es tímida y algo nerviosa, y todavía se comporta como una gatita bebé; Apolo se ha quedado conmigo y no quisiera darlo en adopción, porque es un gato realmente muy extraño, por no decir muy muy especial.

Luna was happily adopted by @Vanuzza last year and has a beautiful life full of love and lots of care, her personality is shy and somewhat nervous, and she still behaves like a baby kitten; Apollo has stayed with me and I would not like to give him up for adoption, because he is a really very strange cat, not to say very very very special.

Apolo tiene una personalidad y forma de ser difícil de describir, es hablador, mimado, muy consentido, pide que lo carguen todo el tiempo y le gusta el agua... pero con la madurez, se ha vuelto temperamental y hemos tenido accidentes en casa donde ha mordido personas que han tratado de separarlo de otros gatos.

Apolo has a personality and way of being difficult to describe, he is talkative, spoiled, very spoiled, asks to be carried all the time and likes water... but with maturity, he has become temperamental and we have had accidents at home where he has bitten people who have tried to separate him from other cats.

Apolito pasó de ser "un gatito de heladito de vainilla", a una mini maquina de guerra que ama a las personas pero ataca a otros gatos, y en el proceso cuando esta alterado tambien ataca a la persona que se entrometa en su "duelo".

Apolito went from being a “vanilla ice cream kitty”, to a mini war machine that loves people but attacks other cats, and in the process when upset also attacks the person who gets in the way of his “duel”.
