Today was declared a work-free day by the government in my state, and the heavy rain that followed was a welcome bonus, keeping everyone indoors. I was exhilarated because it meant I could avoid dealing with boring lectures.

After finishing up some chores that had accumulated during the week, I felt tired and wanted to do something enjoyable with the rest of my free time. Fridays are special to me, especially when I'm not at school. So, I turned to Google to search for lovely animations that could keep me entertained while the rain drummed on my roof and raindrops splattered on my window.

Among the various alluring suggestions, I had to choose one —My Fairy Troublemaker. It piqued my interest because it was a fairytale. I am addicted to fairy tales

My Fairy Troublemaker is an animation filled with excitement and emotion. It revolves around a cheeky tooth fairy named Violetta who challenges her professor's belief that she must pass the tooth test at the fairy academy to undertake a successful mission in the human world without being trapped.

In the fairy world, the tooth test is a rite of passage for every fairy before they are dispatched to retrieve children's lost teeth in the human world. Upon passing the test, the fairies get a gem that signals them for when a child has lost their tooth. The fairy grabs the tooth, leaves a gift for the child and vanishes. Violetta attempts the test but fails, only to be mocked by the conceited fairy Yolando, a celebrity-like figure in the fairy realm due to his exceptional skills.

After Yolando receives the gem that serves as a portal to the human world upon passing his test, he lands his first assignment when Sami loses a tooth. But, trouble brews when Violetta steals Yolando's gem and finds her way into the human world to carry out the mission instead.

In the human world, Violetta encounters Maxie, Sami's stepsister, a girl with a deep passion for plants and trees who is adjusting to her new life after moving from the countryside with her mother, to a city dominated by towering buildings rather than natural landscapes. Violetta and Maxie form a strong bond, with Maxie assisting Violetta in her mission.

Things later get complicated when the gem, which is the portal back to the fairy world, gets broken. To avoid turning into a vegetable for overstaying in the human world, Violetta must quickly find a way home.

I thoroughly enjoyed this animation; its vibrant colors, captivating soundtrack, Violetta's cheekiness, and Maxie's love for nature. The only aspect that seemed off was the display of the title before the movie kick-started, which was in an unfamiliar language. However, the lip movements of the characters matched the English dialogue, and I thought maybe the title was an error because if the film was originally in another language, the lip movement would tell. Also, the title ’My Fairy Troublemaker’ sounds cheesy but the storyline was thrilling.

I would rate this film a solid 4.5 out of 5. It's entertaining, and the characters are relatable. I highly recommend it, especially for children who will undoubtedly love it too.

Thanks for reading this far. <3
