Meet Me Halfway

My decision to pick up this book, came from the many reviews I heard and read about it.

While it seemed like the normal predictable romance novel for me, it wasn't entirely bad, and I definitely enjoyed reading it.

Possible Spoilers

"Meet me Halfway", follows the story of Madison who gave her heart to a boy at the age of sixteen. However, turns out that teenage love did not work in her favor, as she not only got a broken heart but also a full stomach of pregnancy in return.

Turned into a single mother and desperate for love, Madison attempts to find love for the second time, but she is only met with disappointment and abuse.

Deciding that love might altogether not be worth it, she decides to focus on herself and her son, and works up to three jobs to give her son a better life and future.

She goes through balancing three jobs, single parenthood, and online courses, so obviously love is out of the equation.

It is definitely no surprise, when the broody neighbor living next door out rightly judges Madison, even before getting to know her.
Will Madison and this rude neighbor who has already concluded on her get a chance at a happy ever after?

There were quite a few things I found amazing and exciting about this novel.
One of them was the depiction of the true struggles of a single mother.
It is very common to see the struggles of being a single mother being watered down or made to look insignificant.
However, I love how this author beautifully penned down how much being a single mum could change the entire course of women's life.

Character wise, there were also a few characters I loved in this novel. One of them, was Madison.
Madison was such an amazing and lovable character and I rooted so hard for her to find love.

She was an absolutely brilliant single mum, and I wanted to literally ensure every single person who was a terrible human being to her, had a sad ending.

Another character I absolutely loved was Jamie. Jamie was such an adorable, smart and confident eight-year-old and I absolutely loved how present he is in this story. He has such a healthy, fierce and loving relationship with his mum and seeing how fiercely protective he was of her and how much he adored her brought many a happy tear to my eye.

I was a bit worried about Garrett at the beginning because he was quite judgmental. Thankfully, once he realizes that he has made an error in judgement, he quickly readjusts his demeanor and we start to see more of his softer side.
There was so much I loved about this book, and that I’m glad I trusted the reviews to begin with!
There were some emotional moments and some very heartbreaking chapters that were hard to read, but overall, this was a sweet single mother slow burn romance involving a judgmental simping neighbor, an adorably confident kid, a humorous best friend, and so much intense chemistry and tension that made me want to flip over the pages quickly.

I absolutely recommend reading this novel.
