The Odd Places That Hold The Most Adventure!
For Those Who Seek Something More Adventury!
Okay I might be a little over the top here with "More Adventury" but in terms of what one can do in our town I found this to be a nice little addition to the pile!
It's not a well known place but more than often those are the better places to be visiting right? This is Lochshoek I hope I spelt that right and dang I hope I got the name right! A fantastic place! I was a little baffled when "The Betty" brought me here! I never thought there were any businesses this side of town never mind a restaurant nature place thing!
I know not the best picture I tried and did with what I was given! They even had a nice little church here and to the left of it they were busy revamping what I assume would be a venue place for weddings? Perhaps?
Why We Came.
The reason was simple... we were looking for a standard little hiking trail somewhere around Bloemfontein! I'm telling you there's not much to do here except to go eat out at a restaurant somewhere! How boring is that? Too much! Too much nonsense!
Anyways! The plan was to follow one of the hiking trails they offered, I think there was four of these trail but 2 of them were closed or something along those lines. Now that wasn't a problem for us since we had a different route in mind!
Come to think of this, we need to go walking more on a regular basis! Not just a one time thing!

It's Nice Because It's Not Flat!
Well that is partially true... See here's the thing! I am from the "Platteland" which actually means flatlands... now this place is as flat as the "flat earthers" would like to believe, heck driving around here I might start believing that crazy eyed stuff!
So a hiking route here isn't exactly the same as a hiking route down at the seaside! It's really not the same! Down at the seaside it's a much more exciting experience than here back home! Still better than sitting at home watching movies right?
A Quick Skip To The End!
Okay so I added this part now because the rest after this is mostly photos! It felt weird adding this section to the end of the post after I shared a bunch of photos!
That's out of the way! Let's move on!
I know what most of you think! Yeah yeah we went out for a hike and then we drink milkshakes after that? Well yeah... I didn't do this for exercise purposes at all? NAH! Yes I know I need it fiercely but this ain't what my game is! I love nature and I want to experience it and after that I want my bar one milkshake, no two ways about it... No this or that excuse for whatever!
Oh boy oh boy I'd sure as hell return for another one of those milkshakes!
Worth the walk? HELL YEAH!
Even spotted this little hippy van here parked to the side! It would have been a awesome thing if they actually made a little bar of the thing! Like a lounge area where one can be seated!
I think it might make for many an adventure!!
The Views!
Oh but the views can be nice! Even for a flat boring place like this! Once you can gain enough high ground it really is something to experience! It's one thing to be high up but another thing to see everything so openly over the flat plains! Makes for a totally different sight and aura!
Fortunately back when I took these photos it was still somewhat coldish and the walk didn't drain us too much! I did say TOO MUCH! (Heck I'm lying it was terrible after a while! It's sad how unfit I've gotten over the years! And when I'm saying got unfit that doesn't mean I was ever fit! But how unfit am I now that I can't even do things that unfit people can do xD! LAUGHS!

If you really out your mind to it you can make a journey from everything!
This is for sure a place I would revisit, we want to hit the longer hiking trail and see how we fair with that one, might need some more water though!
