Progress On The Motor (At-least For Now)

Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!

Progressing Is Good!

It can be a terrifying thing if you don't really know what's going on here right! It can oh it can!

To think just a few years back this would have been something that would have made my heart pound a little, the thought of am I going to find this part's place in all this mess again!
It must be a damn shame for those that try this and do it unsuccessfully!

Fortunately I made it somewhat easier for myself! I decided to get a whole bunch of buckets and throw every bolt of a certain part in that bucket along with the part, that way the build goes a little faster!

It's not something I stress about but dang it feels like a mountain in front of me! So much work to be done!

Loving The Shine!

Okay so I can't exactly praise the shine that much! It's not a rebuild it's merely just a scrapyard engine! Yeahp! Just a scrapyard engine that was washed off and cleaned!

Again, not our problem, this is the client's baby! He dropped it off and asked us to fit it into the vehicle if there is problems it's high and mighty his own damn problems! We can fix it for him afterwards but of-course at a cost!

Too Much Effort?

There is no such thing as too much effort.... even though bossman says I do way too much but it's how I was learned and doing it any other way just wont cut it for me!

Yeah okay we aren't getting the money we would have on this job but that doesn't mean I should cut on the work! Nah!

Yes I know it would not have made much of a difference and if it would have the chances of it would have been slim! But we have water sanding paper at work and it's very very very fine! So I took that and flattened off most of the carbon build up on the exhaust ports!

It's not sqeauky clean but at-least now I have some peace of mind! YEAH!!

I've Done Quite A Lot!

Okay some may say it doesn't look like I did anything at all but those who can actually read mechanic would say I at-least did something!

Well I did what I could for the day, now it's onto the parts department to see if they can provide the parts fast enough!

I nearly have everything fitted on the exhaust manifold side of the engine and now I've got to switch over to the other side!

The Real Gem Side!

The exhaust manifold side was the easy side, the intake manifold side is where the brain work starts! The side where mostly everything bolts to!

Yeahp so now I've got to take extra care not to wire my cables incorrectly! Otherwisd I'd have to remove a bunch of stuff to get it out again!

Exactly as I tore it down just in reverse! LAUGHS!

I even started adding the wiring loom in places where I could! That is probably the thing to confuse one the most!

The Progress Hinder!

So this is what's stopping me from being able to go on with this engine!

We might have to purchase a new intake manifold, it's evidently clear that this one melted a little bit, it's without a doubt warped.

We only noticed this after cleaning out all that gunk and washing it thoroughly! A shame yeah because I wasted an hour on that crap xD!
Well it is what it is and the client must just get us a new one!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.
