Hive: It Is Revolutionary Because It Pays Our Three Lives
We all have three lives. In this article, I am going to explain what they are and how cryptocurrency enables a radical change in how people are compensated.
The present system only tends to one of our lives, at least from the financial perspective. This is sad because we spend as much, if nor more time, in the second and third.
Here are what we mean by each Life:
Life 1:
This is the system we know. It includes all the things we typically do for money. We start off with the job, the traditional trade time for money. Under this category we see investments or other money seeking activities such as trading, MLMs, or being a landlord.
Essentially, this is where we find the job loop. For those who do not know what this is, it is where we go to work to earn money, use the money to consume goods and services, and repeat process.
Life 2:
Here is where all of our personal activities are located. This includes doing all the stuff at home like cooking, cleaning, laundry. It is also running the kids to baseball or girl scouts. Shopping, car repairs, and entertainment are all part of this area.
Also part of this are recreational activities such as hobbies and vacations. Volunteering along with other interests such as religious or civic are here.
Life 3:
Our online activities can also encompass some of our entertainment. Netflix and Pandora are examples. We also can use online for research or exploration of others area of interest. Naturally, we see social media being one of the dominant players where with Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms occupying a great deal of people's time.
Looking at things through from this perspective reveals a great deal to us.
There is some debate right now about the possibility of technological unemployment. This is where many face the prospect of losing their jobs because of automation. A computer or robot is going to make them obsolete.
Obviously, this affects Life 1. Since this is all people have to fall back upon, it is a devastating situation. If the situation does become widespread, this is going to cause millions a lot of pain.
Here is where we also see attempts at providing a solution enter the picture. Everyone is focused upon this area. For example, the idea of a universal basic income is a Life 1 solution. People lose money from their jobs, figure out a way to replace it.
Crypto-economics offers a much different solution. Instead of only focusing upon one of our lives, it places attention on all three. In other words, people can offset the loss in the first life by being rewarded in the other two.
Just think for a moment how powerful this concept is.
Those blockchains that enable the creation of DApps are going to be very powerful down the road. The reason for this is, in my opinion, people are going to gravitate towards those that enhance their financial situations via the second and third lives.
It is one of the reasons I am so excited about Hive. With the 100 or so DApps that are already operating, see all three Lives touched upon.
@actifit rewards people for their exercise and working out. That is Life 2. @splinterlands is an online game that rewards players with assets (cards) that are traded on exchanges (Life 3). The CLEAN token rewards people for picking up trash in their neighborhoods (Life 2). @spinvest is a Life 1 token that allows people to be part of an investing club that is designed to grow wealth consistently over time.
Content creators tend to fall in the #3 although the successful ones use it as their careers. We see the same with developers. Eventually, as the blockchain world grows, we will see more people replacing their Life 1 money with cryptocurrency.
This is the main reason why I feel cryptocurrency will not be stopped. The present system, along with those who benefit from it, are focused upon maintaining the status quo while keeping people in the same box they were always in. This has led to a lot of damage, both to people and the planet. We now have a better way.
Ultimately, we are talking about the expansion of Commons, which is a peer-to-peer concept that was put on steroids by technology. The ability to assign and transfer value means we can approach the other areas of our lives while being compensated for this.
We also see the ability to for automation to really enhance what typically was under Life 1. If people are rewarded for their stake in a Commons network based around a resource such as energy, then their incomes are assisted through the sale of energy that is automatically captured and distributed.
Uncovering the different possibilities is just getting started. Over the next half decade, I expect this idea to absolutely explode. SMTs are really going to assist in this endeavor since it will provide the opportunity for people to get rewarded for more of their Life 3 activities.
This is a great starting point for humanity.

Your chart misses an important part.
A human sleeps about 1/3 of a day, or 8 hours. I presume you don't want to see that included in your life2 part....
Time to introduce the SLEEP token that rewards you for slumbering. The business model of that token has to be something other than the attention economy, though.
We can implement this when we've all turned cyborg and have direct brain to internet connections.
Seriously though, it sounds ridiculous. Who's going to pay for someone to sleep? My knee-jerk reaction is this is impossible because sleeping doesn't generate value. However, when you think about it, sleep does generate value, as lack of sleep lowers productivity.
However, the idea of quarantining getting paid to sleep to a single coin is probably not viable. This would be a community based feature of a more generic coin that pays for a lot of different activities. The community would have to come to consensus that sleep is pretty important, because a feature like this becomes very redundant in a community that already offers universal basic income.
In fact, it would be in the interest of payers of healthcare be them insurance companies, governments, or employers, to reward people for sleeping. If sleep quality could be measured cheaply, reliably and unobtrusively while using some sort of signal processing to reliably identify the individual sleeping, then rewarding people for getting enough quality sleep could make sense.
According to the Bible, What is the danger of not spreading the Gospel of Christ worldwide as you do today? (Part 2 of 3)
