NEWBIES INITIATIVE TASK 2: HIVE GUIDELINES AND MARKDOWNS

Hello hivers.

Being a part of this newbie initiative is a great achievement and a dream come true so far, cause I know currently am no longer where I used to be, I know deep down inside of me that there has been growth so far since I joined this wonderful initiative.

✨ My experience since I joined hive✨

Amazing isn't it, I joined hive last year November which it feels like am growing old here🙃, I was on a trip to kebbi state I met my cousin who lectured me all about hive, how the platform works. At first I was scared of writing cause at that point I don't know my readers or should I say audience yet, I didn't know the kind of things I'll write that will drag their attention to my post, cause I haven't been into anything relating to writing before and when it comes to hive you don't just write, you create quality contents.

So the mindset I had before joining hive: I joined with the mindset of making money, I was even earning in my mind more than I was physically, after my introductory post I noticed I wasn't having too many likes anymore, then I kept asking myself what the problem was, if I wasn't writing anything meaningful or what. And because of that it affected me being consistent, I was actually loosing my patience on the block chain, I don't write often anymore, most times I'll come check out some posts then log out.

This past month has being great so far, being a part of the newbie initiative I've been very active on the platform, when it comes to engagement I think I've been engaged more, then comments wow!!! I've been commenting on people's post often I've realised that is what you do you get on this platform. The hive platform is very unique.

I've made more impact through sharing of knowledge and ideas with other users here on hive. I think my writing has improved also with time I know am gonna be better than I am now.

I have been able to examine myself and I have found out how much growth I've made so far in this platform and I pray the progress keeps counting. I believe self evaluation is an essential key for personal growth.

My thoughts on plagiarism and vote begging

Plagiarism
is an act of stealing or passing off in lay man terms. I guess we all know stealing is bad right?.
Plagiarism is simply taking someone else's work and presenting it completely as your own, which is an offensive act to the hive platform. It can also be avoided, in order to avoid plagiarism we can cite the original source or a simple acknowledgement would be okay. The consequence that comes with plagiarism Is to be muted and blocked from the hive platform

Vote Begging:
Most times we beg for votes without knowing it, that is why instead of getting upvoted we get downvoted, maybe we feel like doing it cause others are doing it also. Well it's possible.
It is not really healthy to tag people who don't know you in your post that can also be vote begging, in order to avoid being down voted you have to tag people that knows you. Vote begging is known as a fraudulent act in the hive platform and should be avoided.

My thoughts on post recycling

Post recycling is actually the means of reposting something you've posted before, or trying to restructure an old post you've made on the platform, putting new ideas and reposting it is prohibited in the hive platform and such acts should not be practiced.
Hive is a platform that encourages us to be creative, hard work is also required, the reason why someone can actually go back to an old and add colour to it just to repost here again, it means that person is not hard working and is not ready to improve on themselves, the hive platform allows us to learn from others who are above us. And if persons practicing such acts are caught will be blocked from the platform forever.

Markdowns don't just add colour to a post, they also make your post readable

On my own I've been trying to understand these markdowns and how to apply them in a post, the only markdowns I know how to use then was just my normal bolding of text and italicising of text that was everything I knew how to do. After seeing the tutorial post I noticed there was alot of things I still needed to learn.

You know what's cool about everything I can actually add cool images to a text.
So has this tutorial post being helpful to me well it's a "big yes". And as time goes by I intend to add more colours to my post by justifying my text, also by adding colours to my text.
