[ENG/ESP] Chronicle of an exceptional Wednesday, in search of a budget.
Greetings dear hives and friends of #wednesdaywalk . I hope you are enjoying a day as wonderful as mine; a day that has been exceptional and one that I am eager to share with you, all thanks to the incredible initiative of @tattoodjay.
I want to tell you how this day went for us as we are very excited about the installation of a security gate at my home. Although we are well underway, we are still missing some essential materials to complete this task. My husband and I, with our minds set on this goal, left early for work, knowing that today would be a different day, as we would finish our work a little earlier. So, by late afternoon, we were back home, ready to take on this task together. We complemented each other perfectly on these projects, he with his technical knowledge of the right materials and I with a clear vision of the quantities needed for the design we longed for.
The afternoon sun was shining brightly, warming everything in its path, that pleases me, however, aware of the vagaries of the weather, we made sure to stay well hydrated to avoid any discomfort due to the heat. With a determined step, we headed to the city, knowing that time was of the essence, since some businesses close early and we had the firm objective of obtaining the desired budget and, by the way, to acquire some groceries for the week.

Quiero contarles cómo nos fue este día ya que nos ilusiona enormemente, la instalación de un portón de seguridad en mi hogar. Aunque ya hemos avanzado bastante, aún nos faltan algunos materiales esenciales para completar esta tarea. Mi esposo y yo, con la mente puesta en este objetivo, salimos temprano a trabajar, sabiendo que hoy sería un día diferente, ya que terminaríamos nuestras labores un poco más temprano. Así, cuando la tarde, ya estábamos de vuelta en casa, listos para emprender juntos esta tarea. Nos complementamos perfectamente en estos proyectos, él con su conocimiento técnico sobre los materiales adecuados y yo con una visión clara de las cantidades necesarias para el diseño que anhelamos.
El sol de la tarde brillaba con fuerza, calentando todo lo que encontraba a su paso, eso me agrada, sin embargo, conscientes de los caprichos del clima, nos aseguramos de mantenernos bien hidratados para evitar cualquier malestar debido al calor. Con paso decidido, nos dirigimos a la ciudad, sabiendo que el tiempo era esencial, ya que algunos negocios cierran temprano y teníamos el firme objetivo de obtener el presupuesto deseado y, de paso, adquirir algunos víveres para la semana.
Arriving in the city, we went up the Conejero bridge, to reach our destination, which was the Ecocenter shopping center, inside this modern complex, there is a store that seemed to be waiting for us with exactly what we needed.
In this store we were served with utmost kindness and were offered a metal door lock of excellent quality, and the price was unbeatable. When we left, we felt satisfied, not only for having accomplished our goals, but also for having found something more, that something you only feel when things go better than expected.
I have always been a firm believer in the power of a positive attitude, it almost always leads to a successful solution to the challenges we face. This philosophy of life has been with me every step of the way, and today was no exception.
Al llegar a la ciudad, subimos el puente de Conejero, para llegar a nuestro destino, que era el centro comercial Ecocenter, dentro de este moderno complejo, se encuentra una tienda que parecía esperarnos con exactamente lo que necesitábamos.
En esta tienda nos atendieron con suma amabilidad y nos ofrecieron un cierre de puerta de metal de excelente calidad, y el precio era inmejorable. Al salir de allí, nos sentíamos satisfechos, no solo por haber cumplido nuestros objetivos, sino también por haber encontrado algo más, ese algo que solo se siente cuando las cosas van mejor de lo esperado.
Siempre he creído firmemente en el poder de la actitud positiva, casi siempre conduce a una solución exitosa de los desafíos que enfrentamos. Esta filosofía de vida me ha acompañado en cada paso, y hoy no fue la excepción.
As night began to fall, we realized that we had spent more time than expected at Ecocenter. But there was no hurry, our next destination, the Sigo market, awaited us with its doors open until 8:30 p.m., giving us the peace of mind to move at our own pace.
A medida que la noche comenzaba a caer, nos dimos cuenta que habíamos pasado más tiempo del previsto en Ecocenter. Pero no había prisa, nuestro siguiente destino, era el mercado de Sigo, nos esperaba con sus puertas abiertas hasta las 8:30 p.m., brindándonos la tranquilidad de movernos a nuestro propio ritmo.
Inside the market, I walked down each aisle with a list in hand, we acquired everything we needed for the next few days, but not before adding a special touch: a chocolate pudding, our son's favorite. The idea of surprising him with this sweet gesture filled us with joy, especially knowing that he, with his usual generosity, had taken it upon himself to bring dinner forward at home while we completed our chores.
Dentro del mercado, recorrí cada pasillo con una lista en mano, adquirimos todo lo necesario para los próximos días, pero no sin antes añadir un toque especial: un pudín de chocolate, el favorito de nuestro hijo. La idea de sorprenderlo con este dulce gesto nos llenaba de alegría, especialmente sabiendo que él, con su generosidad habitual, se había encargado de adelantar la cena en casa mientras nosotros completamos nuestras tareas.
With the shopping done and the night well into the night, we packed everything in our car and headed for home. The drive back was short, filled with the happiness of having accomplished what we had set out to do.
Con las compras finalizadas y la noche ya bien avanzada, guardamos todo en nuestro coche y nos dirigimos a casa. El camino de regreso se nos hizo corto, impregnado de la felicidad de haber logrado lo que nos propusimos.
