Cada nuevo año trae para nosotros un abanico de oportunidades, que siempre está presente, pero que al parecer nos enfocamos mejor en visualizar, cuando estamos dispuestos a empezar un nuevo ciclo.

La iniciativa de esta semana de la comunidad Ladies of Hive, en su edición 167, incluye la siguiente propuesta que despertó mi interés:

Soy Ingeniero de Petróleo, hasta el momento me he dedicado a ejercer mi carrera, algo que considero una bendición, porque no todos pueden hacerlo.

Ha sido mucho el crecimiento profesional y personal que he experimentado a lo largo de 20 años de servicio a la empresa para la que trabajo. Han habido momentos buenos y no tan buenos, pero sin duda, el balance ha sido positivo. Incluso conocí a mi esposo en mi mundo laboral.

Mis habilidades han estado mayormente limitadas a mis funciones como ingeniero: La capacidad de análisis, trabajo bajo presión, trabajo en equipo y respuesta oportuna, son algunas de las indispensables en la posición que ocupo.

I am a Petroleum Engineer, so far I have dedicated myself to my career, something that I consider a blessing, because not everyone can do it.

I have experienced a lot of professional and personal growth during my 20 years of service to the company I work for. There have been good times and not so good times, but without a doubt, the balance has been positive. I even met my husband in my work world.

My skills have been mostly limited to my duties as an engineer: The ability to analyze, work under pressure, teamwork and timely response, are some of the indispensable in the position I occupy.



Cuando los ingresos en el trabajo no eran suficientes, muchos de mis colegas comenzaron a hacer otras actividades extras para complementar su ingreso mensual. Algunos se dedicaron a elaborar comidas o repostería, otros empezaron su emprendimiento personal, que casi siempre tiene que ver con la venta de algún producto o servicio.

Entonces me sentí perdida, yo sentía que no sabía hacer más nada, no me creía capaz de desarrollar alguna habilidad extracurricular. No me gusta vender productos, no soy buena con la repostería, ni siquiera sé de costura y confección.

When the income from work was not enough, many of my colleagues began to do other extra activities to supplement their monthly income. Some dedicated themselves to cooking or baking, others started their own personal business, which almost always had to do with selling a product or service.

Then I felt lost, I felt I didn't know how to do anything else, I didn't think I was capable of developing any extracurricular skills. I don't like selling products, I'm not good at baking, I don't even know how to sew and make clothes.



Pero justo en ese momento conocí a lo que era antes HIVE, Steemit, gracias a un colega que incluso me enseñó cómo hacer una publicación.

Cuando inicié no obtuve recompensas, como muchos, sin embargo, ese paso me mostró el mundo blockchain, que es muy amplio. Por un tiempo estuve haciendo trading y al inicio me fue bien, gracias a que estábamos en un mercado alcista. También invertí en proyectos en los que me fue muy mal, lo que me hizo entender el valor de HIVE.

Mi poca experiencia me llevó a perder ganancias cuando llegó el mercado bajista, pero por algún tiempo funcionó para mí.

But just at that time I met what was formerly HIVE, Steemit, thanks to a colleague who even taught me how to make a publication.

When I started I did not get rewards, like many, however, that step showed me the blockchain world, which is very broad. For a while I was trading and at the beginning I did well, thanks to the fact that we were in a bull market. I also invested in projects in which I did very badly, which made me understand the value of HIVE.

My inexperience led me to lose profits when the bear market came, but for some time it worked for me.



Aún así, me desgastó el exceso de adrenalina que me generaba el trading y entonces decidí enfocarme solamente en HIVE, con la esperanza de que algún día sea rentable para mí.

Quiero mejorar lo que hago aquí, por eso una nueva meta que tengo es estudiar marketing digital, no sé muy bien qué beneficios me traerá a futuro, pero mi instinto me dice que es algo que debo hacer.

Este año, Dios mediante, optaré a la jubilación prematura en mi trabajo y deseo dedicarme al mundo virtual, lo que incluye mi blog y las criptomonedas y no sé todavía qué nueva oportunidad traerá mi decisión, pero presiento que será interesante descubrirlo.

Even so, the excess of adrenaline that trading generated in me wore me out and then I decided to focus only on HIVE, with the hope that someday it will be profitable for me.

I want to improve what I do here, so a new goal I have is to study digital marketing, I do not know very well what benefits it will bring me in the future, but my instinct tells me that it is something I should do.

This year, God willing, I will opt for early retirement in my job and I want to dedicate myself to the virtual world, which includes my blog and cryptocurrencies and I don't know yet what new opportunity my decision will bring, but I have a feeling it will be interesting to find out.



Entonces, tengo el propósito este año de aprender todo lo que me ayude a fortalecerme en el espacio web, creo que el futuro está orientado a un crecimiento exponencial de todo lo digital. Intuyo que cada vez será menos las actividades presenciales.

Solicitar mi jubilación prematura es una decisión importante, porque dejaré de disfrutar de varios beneficios, sin embargo, ese tiempo pienso dedicarlo, como dije antes, a adquirir nuevas capacidades y habilidades que me permitan estar preparada para las oportunidades que se me presenten.

Lo mejor, es que nunca es tarde para aprender habilidades nuevas.

So, I have the purpose this year to learn everything that will help me to become stronger in the web space, I believe that the future is oriented to an exponential growth of everything digital. I sense that there will be less and less face-to-face activities.

Requesting my early retirement is an important decision, because I will no longer enjoy several benefits, however, I plan to dedicate that time, as I said before, to acquire new skills and abilities that will allow me to be prepared for the opportunities that will come my way.

The best part is that it's never too late to learn new skills.

Many professionals do not have the opportunity to practice their profession, so I thank life for my job, and it has given me what I have today.
Some people even do better when they do something else, I have a former colleague who left her job to be a real estate broker and she is doing very well. The important thing is to do what you do with passion.
