A story to reflect on

Many people think that no one learns from other people's experiences, but I believe that it is possible, especially when we feel empathy and see up close how difficult some situations are for those who live them, and we can even learn how they were able to overcome them successfully.

If we are a little intelligent, we should assimilate what is useful to us and discard what we already know does not work. So, there are stories that teach us a lesson, make us reflect or mark us in some way.

I am very romantic, love and heartbreak stories are my favorite. Yes, both, because, just as I like to know how it all began, what is the story behind each relationship, I find it useful to know why it ended, what could make something that once caused so much illusion, is now less than nothing. There are several I could tell, but this time I will share one that I lived very closely, that of a loved one.

She met him at work, he was a handsome, elegant man and was the assistant manager of the company she worked for. She was just 18 years old, studying at the university, with a world of dreams ahead of her. She was a beautiful young girl, radiating so much light and joy. At that age, there are no impossibilities and even less so when your life has not known sadness. Unfortunately, it is experience that engraves our hearts with wounds that never really go away.

Anyway, she fell in love with him, who was 10 years older, but his family did not accept him, because he was a man in the process of separation and was already the father of a daughter. I really don't think there is any father or mother who would want that for a daughter; we know that love is above all, but things have to be done right and that takes time.

They decided to live together, although no one agreed, not even me, because I thought that if he really loved her, he would wait for the divorce to be finalized and then they would get married; it all seemed so rushed and hurried.

Like every girl in love, she, even against everyone, did her will. Feelings sometimes blind us and I can understand her, there was no malice in her heart, for her the world was pink and if he swore love to her, what could go wrong? Even when we have experience, if we fall in love, we silence any concern or voice that tells us the opposite of what our heart wants, which we know does not listen to reason.

Immediately, she had to resign from her job, due to the conflict of interest generated by two colleagues having a romantic relationship, which is a usual policy in companies.

They rented a small apartment and soon after she became pregnant, so she dropped out of college as well. When we look at the story from the outside we can tell that it was not a good sign that, at her age, she had already had to give up her studies and a good job. However, I also know that it is not easy to notice when you are in those shoes.

With God's grace, she had a beautiful baby girl, who made her very happy.

She dedicated herself to being the perfect housewife, she took great care to make sure everything was perfect in her home. She, who never used to be officious, had earned a master's degree. I was impressed to see how that young girl, who was just starting out in life, was already a lady of the house. It broke my heart, but all I had to do was to understand her and be happy for her, because it was her life and her happiness that mattered.

From one moment to the next, everything changed, before her baby girl turned one year old, she discovered that her husband was unfaithful. A somewhat ordinary story, I know, but what I don't see as ordinary is what happened next.

Really?

That girl was only 19 years old, but she made no drama, packed her bags, with only her clothes and personal items and left there, with her daughter, forever. She wanted nothing more to do with him. That story ended at that moment, with no intermission, no second part.

After everything happened, I talked to her about it and she told me: He did the one thing I would not be able to tolerate and that is beyond repair. It hurts me, but I couldn't live with him anymore.

She didn't make a fuss, she didn't set out on a revenge plan, nor did she make his life bitter, in fact, she never even asked him for anything for her daughter and he never came closer to her either.

Such a simple ending, is something I didn't see, neither before, nor after.

She taught me a great lesson, rather two, firstly, that maturity has nothing to do with age and, secondly, that we must be clear about what we want, fight for it, but also let go, with the same impetus, of what we do not want in our life.

Life from gratitude is a life full of blessings.

Thank you all for so much...

ndeed a twist in the story, not what I was looking out for. I must confess I admire her courage.

It is indeed a story to reflect on, thanks for sharing.

I also found that girl's attitude admirable, even though she was so young.

Greetings, thanks for stopping by.
