About 3.15pm at the sports field at the back of the house. Sunset was about 35 minutes later. In a few weeks, this will be a mass of snowdrops.

It was cooler today with a chilly breeze, but the sun lasted late into the afternoon. The sky was clear, stars twinkling, when I went out earlier. The temperature is forecast to drop below zero tonight, but warmer tomorrow.


On the way, down Manor Road, a few cars now and then, and a few more walkers than yesterday. Everyone pleased to get outside for a few minutes for some fresh air.

Many of the houses around here were built in the early 20th century. The University of Leicester owns many of them - they have a vast estate, it's difficult to fathom what goes on in some of them.

The new build swimming pool and gym is behind the mystery houses. There's a little path down the side to the gate onto the avenue between the sports fields.

On the way home on the opposite side of Manor Road. I'd crossed to see the horses in the field at the end. It was interesting to walk home on the other side of the road - a different outlook completely.

A longer walk today, about 5km. Enjoyed it!
