A windswept day, overcast and mild. A friend came for a coffee and talked me into WhatsApp and Spotify so I can talk to family. A rush to get birthday cards and presents sorted, then out for a walk round the back by the Sports field. I never tire of this view down the avenue of trees. I must have recorded it in every season now.

Hardly does justice to the fire colours, dull and uniform in this picture but bright and fiery in the material world.

Aiming for ten rows a day ... will take about a fortnight at that rate. Down to the third buttonhole now and time to try it on for the first fitting and adjustments. Row gauge is spot on, stitch gauge a little tight - unusual for me. I suspect it will get looser on the body when the increases stop.
