The meaning behind DRESSING UP a GROOM!
Hello friends,
In our Hindu culture that we follow in Suriname the groom gets dressed up in front of the whole family. When this activities starts he walks from his room to the place (outside) where the Puja (worship) is done. He is accompanied by his mother who puts her shawl on his head as a blessing.
Here you can see where he sits in his inner jersey waiting for his brother-in-law to dress him up. This activity is done by his brother-in-law, the meaning behind this is that once the brother-in-law choose for his sister to marry. In order to show that he really means for them he has to do something back.
I got one sort of fake smile of the groom 🤣 I think it was more of his nervousness...
This is where the groom wear his sherwani with the help of his brother-in-law and NAW (assistant of the priest, he does all the preparation for the priest).
This is a photo of the grooms SEHERA. This is being hung on his forehead so you can't see the grooms face easily.
A preset i made using lightroom because there was no other way to shoot this activity. I had to shoot against the sunlight. So i edited in lightroom by making my own preset.
This one is without the preset i made. Just some minor color adjusments.
I hope you've got to know the meaning behind dressing up the groom. There's more to know. So follow me for more updates.

Interesting. I know almost nothing about the culture, so your post helped me understand what was happening :)
Thank you @erikah. I also don't know everything. I try to explain the things i learned from my parents, especially my father. Almost everything has a meaning behind it that's linked to having a peacefull life.
